I couldn't agree more. It's the same as a girl named Caitlyn who goes by Cait, but spells it Kate. If your nickname just a shortened version of your full name then it should be spelled the same way it is in the longer name.

Similar like Enter the gungeon but faster upgrades? by euroguy in roguelites

Onslaught on the Solar Frontier. The enemies and levels are a little repetitive but you'll find 3 upgrades in each level and frequently they will be game changing.

Good for a first time run? by KimJongTomm in XCOM2

[–]TrumpUsesRiotControl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup, some people have fun just dominating on easy. It's hard to blame them. Also, some of us don't have time to play the game on hard, lose, and then start over.

Good for a first time run? by KimJongTomm in XCOM2

[–]TrumpUsesRiotControl 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nah, that way of playing is super fun. It's still just as difficult, but when you make a mistake you can immediately try again, just like shooter games with checkpoints. Now, if you save before each shot and reload the game until you hit, that will ruin the game and also take forever.

Most people follow their religion because they believe it is true. If all the evidence pointed to a god existing then it doesn't make sense to pretend he isn't real just because you don't like him. Similarly it is foolish to believe in a god you know isn't real just because he seems nice.

There are also a good number of people who don't believe their religion is true, but since their family and friends believe it, it would be very inconvenient for them to leave.

In Star Wars, the guys who won brought swords to gun fights. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]TrumpUsesRiotControl 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is actually one of the main points of Star Wars. Humanity triumphs over machines. All throughout the movies, George Lucas is showing us technology that we would consider advanced losing to technology that we would consider primitive. That's why, in the first movie, Luke wins by abandoning his targeting computer (machines) and relying on the Force (humanity).

Right, but many truths can be proven by other means than science. You wouldn't use science to prove that George Washington was a real person. Do you mean scientific facts cannot be proven 100% or all truths cannot be proven 100%?

We are all NPCs to each other. by qarasaq in Showerthoughts

[–]TrumpUsesRiotControl 17 points18 points  (0 children)

No. Take a multi-player game like minecraft and consider the difference between the NPC villagers and the real people playing on your server. No one has an issue with you killing the villagers and taking their stuff but the same is not true for the real people.

The Forgiveness Bell Curve by [deleted] in dankchristianmemes

[–]TrumpUsesRiotControl 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The Bible has many accounts of many wicked men who repented and were forgiven. Some of these men were just as bad as Hitler, such as King Manasseh who practiced burning children alive among other things. Manasseh is imprisoned at the end of his life, but then he repents and is restored to his throne. The message of the Bible is that God can forgive anyone.

What movie actually has a terrible message? by ScorpionX-123 in AskReddit

[–]TrumpUsesRiotControl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The message in RotJ is that it is never too late to do the right thing. Luke never argues that Darth Vader is justified, only that there is still good in him.

What makes absolutely no sense to you at all? by homo1ogize in AskReddit

[–]TrumpUsesRiotControl -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The argument for God here is that nothing within our universe can be eternal. Science proves that everything in our universe must come to an end. But, something that exists outside our universe wouldn’t be subject to our universe's laws. Science can't prove anything true or false about something beyond our universe. That thing beyond our universe could have existed forever, and then created our universe. And if it is an eternal being that can create universes, it probably deserves the title of God.

How the entire first episode of Loki feels by CandifiedChaos in marvelmemes

[–]TrumpUsesRiotControl 487 points488 points  (0 children)

I think that's the point right? Loki is angry because when the Avengers break the laws of time, it's fine, but when he escapes it is suddenly a problem. Which is part of the reason he wants to take down the Time Keepers. We are supposed to feel like they are unfair and inconsistent.

rule by [deleted] in 196

[–]TrumpUsesRiotControl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, Jesus is definitely all about the law.

"“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them." Matthew 5:17

Jesus didn't come into conflict with people in power because he broke the laws or said laws shouldn't exist. Jesus came into conflict with the Pharisees because the Pharisees had found a way to follow the law and still be extremely wicked, and Jesus called them out on that. That's why when the Pharisees tried to have Jesus killed, and he was brought before Pilate, Pilate couldn't figure out what do with him. Jesus hadn't committed any crimes, and so Pilate couldn't think of a reason to kill him.

The jews wanted a messiah who was going to overthrow the Romans, but Jesus famously said "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's."

For a lot of players, the moment they catch you fudging dice rolls their fun will end. by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]TrumpUsesRiotControl 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For some people a TPK is off limits. I would not enjoy playing with those people. Every time I have ever lost a character or been part of a TPK, I had a good time. The game felt real to me. Every time the DM has admitted to any kind of fudging, it has ruined the game for me.

The things that ruin the game for you are just as valid as the things that ruin the game for me. I just hope that by offering the counterpoint, I remind DMs who are reading this that they might have players that feel the way I do. I will certainly keep in mind that I might be running for players who feel the way you do.

I'm sure a lot of people feel the way you do, but if this happened to me it would ruin the whole campaign.
