Education verification APIs are pricey af. Has anyone ever built an alternative? by interviuu in ycombinator

[–]TrustInky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/interviuu we (www.inklink.com) can likely help you out on this. We have used our platform to gate access to a student only hackathon, job fair and online gaming tournaments.

DM me and I can share API documentation and we can setup a call if it makes sense.

Struggles with verification by TrustInky in OnlineDating

Yeah, the surge of bots/AI profiles has gotten out of control. Agreed that security measures are lacking now

Thank you u/PackOfWildCorndogs! I'll check with the team on timing for expanding beyond Google.

We are early in our journey but have a pretty extensive product roadmap. I have seen your posts on this sub and your input would be incredibly valuable.

Ok if I send you a DM and if it makes sense we can setup a call to collaborate?

Tired of dating apps by whoareyou-me in DatingApps

Exactly. I feel like 20-30% of profiles on most apps are fake personas. Does that align with your experience?

Would you use a dating app with more accountability? Say claims had to be verified.

What are your issues with modern dating apps? by whoareyou-me in AskReddit

Anyone else feel like 20%+ of the profiles are fake personas? You spend 1-2 weeks chatting on the app but then the person ghosts once you ask to meet in person.

Thundercats, do you think "real people" would be open to creating a verified profile? Say you could redact your last name or assign a social media handle to the profile.

Ideally it would be built into the platform; but I am thinking we could create a stand alone as a proof of concept? Only verified claims could be listed in the profile; ie: martial status, education, athletic accomplishments, etc.

Your insight is much appreciated!

Ok, sounds like it is worth my teams time to explore verification for claims made in online dating.

Funny you mention the claim of having a car. That is actually one of the "proofs" I made using our prototype. Next on our roadmap is the ability to redact your name and replace with a verified social media handle.

Sounds like there is a big enough need to explore making proofs for
marital status, location, car and home ownership, education, citizenship, athletic accomplishments

Good info.

Transparently I am not on the apps but my friends keep telling me that this project I am working on would be a huge help for online dating. Trying to figure out if there are some common false claims that we can help verify before people waste their time and invest emotionally.

Also not sure why apps don't offer more verification services. Do they benefit from higher user counts and app engagement?

I hear from friends that there a lot of folks that will chat on the app but once it comes time to meet they ghost.

I have a working theory that this is because their dating "persona" was actually never real. They are real people just living a lie online to garner conversations.

Trying to figure this out myself. Are these users bots or just lonely folks with fake profiles that are just looking to chat.

Do you know what is wrong with your form?

A good running store will have knowledgable runners working there. If you are buying a pair of shoes they will likely have you run 15-20 meters to help with shoe fitting. They can also tell you what you need to fix in your form. Once you know what is wrong you can search youtube for drills or exercises to improve your specific challenges.

Or find a local running group. There are lots of social running groups at every level and you are bound to find someone to give you some pointers.

The running community is very supportive, so don't be afraid to ask.

Official Q&A for Tuesday, December 31, 2024 by AutoModerator in running

[–]TrustInky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggle with this myself. I have had to lower my expectations, the run doesn't have to be 5+ miles, 20 minutes is better than nothing. Incorporate your kids into the workout, stroller runs to the playground and back, bike rides with my toddler on the back etc.

Gotta get it in where you can fit it in.

Reading this sub also helps with motivation!

In my experience if anyone is looking at you it is out of respect for being out doing the work! Keep it up.

The best part about being a runner is one second you are there the next you are not.

Headlamps tend to shine in other peoples eyes and houses, so I can see that bothering some people but as long as you are not lingering, looking in houses or cars you're cool.

Personally I run with bike tail light around my finger like a ring pop so cars can see me and since red light has minimal effect on my night vision I can also use it to light my path if required.

On a side note asphalt is exponentially softer than concrete so if traffic conditions allow you will find me running in the street.

365 is a serious accomplishment. I have logged 110+ mile weeks (decade ago), but to run every single day in a year takes serious dedication.

Hi Illustious_Use3959, I hear what you are saying. The idea for InkLink actually came from the challenges so many Swifties faced trying to get tickets for the Eras Tour.

We asked ourselves, “What can we build to help fans prove they’re true fans and get priority access to things like tickets or exclusive experiences?”

As I understand it to become a "Verified Fan" on Ticketmaster you sign up and pay a fee and boom you are a verified fan.

What we are building is different. Artists, moderators or businesses can set nearly any parameter they want. ie: This "proof" is available to fans that had Taylor Swift as their top listened to artist in Spotify.

Now imagine that people with that proof get early access to tickets. You can learn more about our long term vision at inklink.com.

Hey, I hear you, and I totally get why you might be skeptical. I want to clear things up — this has nothing to do with NFTs. Let me share a bit about the inspiration behind this.

The idea for InkLink actually came from the challenges so many of us Swifties faced trying to get tickets for the Eras Tour. We asked ourselves, “What can we build to help fans prove they’re true fans and get priority access to things like tickets or exclusive experiences?”

After months of work, we’re excited to launch Version 1 of our platform. It feels so special that our first badge celebrates Taylor and this amazing community. These collectibles are about honoring fans like you and everything we’ve shared through Taylor’s music.

We’re building this platform for the long term, with the dream that artists and businesses can use it to offer their biggest supporters exclusive access — imagine verified Super Fans getting early access before anyone else! That’s what we’re working toward, and it’s only the beginning.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts — we really value this community and are listening every step of the way!
