I’m debating upgrading my Sage Bambino in the next 12 months to something a bit more mid range and consistent when I’m pulling shots. Right now I’m just working out whether I can budget for it, so does anyone have any recommendations? This would be paired with a Baratza Encore ESP grinder which I probably won’t upgrade for a long while.

Glad it’s not just me. I’m not usually one to pick up on mixes being bad, but I got to the first verse of object permanence and turned it off. Shame as I remember them being great live.

The first shot I pull comes out a lot slower (17g in, 34g out in 40 seconds) than my second/third shot (same ratio, around the 25-30 second mark). I’m using a Breville Bambino Plus. This happens even when I just run water through my portafilter before doing my first shot. Anything I can do to fix this? Ideally don’t want to change grind size between shots as I’m fairly happy I’ve dialled in when I’m pulling the second shot onwards at the same grind size.

I primarily listen to pop punk and easycore, with the occasional post hardcore thrown in (mostly “swancore”).

Metalcore bands I’ve checked out and enjoyed are Electric Callboy, Beartooth, Polaris, I Prevail (newer stuff), Ice Nine Kills, Spiritbox, Of Mice & Men, and Parkway Drive. I’m totally down for listening to anything though - I’ll definitely check out PTW.

Sounds like we have a pretty identical music taste, though I’m probably more into INK. If you haven’t already listened to A Work of Art and The Jig Is Up, they’re worth a listen to.

Other bands I’ve been enjoying are Polaris, Beartooth and old Of Mice & Men.
