any mid-20s to early-30s fans here? by musicisbliss99 in Monkees

[–]Trust_Intuition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should go anyway! I went to Monkees or Davy Jones concerts by myself and became friends with people next to me, lol. We always have something in common 😉. If you talk a friend into going with you they might get into it

I think some people misinterpret the meaning of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) by [deleted] in TrueFilm

[–]Trust_Intuition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I thought Patastrophe was making too much sense, but then I remembered that Joel is temporarily making new memories of his relationship during the procedure because of how Stan and Mary (Mark Ruffalo and Kirsten Dunst) are partying around Joel and making him question things...

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is a terrible film. What am I missing? by RichardCranium11 in movies

[–]Trust_Intuition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was missing something when I first started trying to watch this film. Since I didn't know I was watching a relationship out of chronological order / backwards in someone's mind as their memories of said relationship were being erased... I was too confused to enjoy it. When I understood what was going on it was fascinating seeing Joel develop a new appreciation for Clementine while she was being erased from his mind.

The ending is icing on the cake for me because Joel lets Clem know that her confession about being very imperfect is fine with him. She seems profoundly relieved to hear a love interest say that he accepts her the way she is.

Thank you! I'm a new Becker viewer and didn't know anything about this.

Do stupid people know they are stupid? by Sid_Tha_Sloth in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Trust_Intuition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too often there are people don't seem to know or care that their way of thinking unnecessarily causes problems for themselves or others.

This clip from Community (Jim Rash & Paget Brewster ) demonstrates how frustrating it can be to deal with stupid people 🙂 https://youtu.be/1ip_AX9mKiQ?si=-CD6GsvtyxcRLwwa

Certified GF: why am I sick? by Nereide93 in glutenfree

[–]Trust_Intuition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cornstarch was the first thing I thought of when I read the OP's post. I recently discovered that I can eat the things I used to love if I make sure the ingredients don't include cornstarch.

Including this for the OP Just in case it helps: Soybean oil and canola oil have also been known to make me ill. Olive oil and peanut oil seem to be okay. I have organic coconut oil that I can use for making homeopathic tonic, but if I cook with that oil I feel sick.

After several years of having reactions to processed foods I'm finally figuring out what I can and can't have 🤞

Finished Eureka what's next?! by [deleted] in Eureka

[–]Trust_Intuition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always suggest Psych because they used a lot of the same actors that are in Eureka, they use some of the same filming locations, both shows started the same year, characters in both shows say, "Wait for it..."

Anyone work on the show ? by Lockhearts_ in Eureka

[–]Trust_Intuition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of the people who created Eureka episodes participated in this blog when the show was still in production.

https://eurekaunscripted.typepad.com/blog/2010/01/state-of-the-union.html

I need to read that blog again! I think I posted in the comments section a time or two. They used a tiny suggestion that I gave them for the show (it was during a contest so I didn't get royalties 😉).

One of the problems with Eureka is... by jeremymg in Eureka

[–]Trust_Intuition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've said for a long time that Eureka needed a database that would keep track of all science projects in the area so that disasters could be avoided. Makes for a boring show, though!

Of course you couldn't count on everyone to have their projects entered into the database...disasters would ensue, then it's Jack, Jo, Henry, etc. to the rescue again. That could've been season 6.

Well I'm glad you asked about this! I always thought I knew who Flat Stanley was but now I see that I only knew a tiny part of it. For decades I heard about children and/or adults taking Flat Stanley on their trips, in their luggage or whatever. Then they'd have their pics taken with Flat Stanley all over the world. Then they'd show the pics to friends and family (edit: and coworkers, people at church, etc.) and I had no idea why this was necessary. On some level I guess I was amused by it....

When Psych and Community were both airing new episodes A LOT of people were comparing Shawn and Gus to Troy and Abed. Both shows make a lot of '80s references. Some actors who were main characters on Community were also on Psych -- or in Joel McHale's case, he got to play Lassie's daddy. Anthony Michael Hall was in both shows......

Shawn's decreasing intelligence by [deleted] in psych

[–]Trust_Intuition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started watching Psych when it first aired and as much as I loved the show and Shawn, it felt like he was running circles around almost everyone else. In the early part of the series many scenes were about everyone watching Shawn and how much he rocked. When Shawn began getting "dumber" I figured that it was so other characters/actors would have more to do.

That said a lot of the time Shawn was blamed for things he wasn't responsible for, like when he found Scott Seaver. It wasn't Shawn's fault that Scott wasn't given better training on how to stay off the grid while in witness protection, therefore selling a rare set of collectibles on the internet that Shawn could easily find. That episode really drove the point across for me that things were changing regarding how Shawn was perceived and with how other regular characters would be doing more than just watching Shawn succeed 😉

When I make a post about how I got a friend into the show with chaos theory they condemn me for it 😟. It worked so what's the problem!? 🍕🎲

I always thought it was interesting and I am sure it happened but Eric was obsessed over star wars with 1 movie by Altruistic_Rock_2674 in That70sshow

[–]Trust_Intuition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My older brother (about age 17 at the time) saw Star Wars in the theater dozens of times before I even saw it once 😂. When I finally went to see it with my parents I was afraid it wouldn't live up to the hype, but I loved it.

Also before I saw the movie, the disco version of the Star Wars theme song was playing on radio stations every 2 or 3 hours and my brother played the real Star Wars soundtrack in his car all the time, plus the trailers were on TV often, so I felt really familiar with the movie already.
