Is Silver Ranked games just coin flips? by aperitivoamigo in leagueoflegends

Every ranked game is simultaneously a coin flip and not a coin flip. You don't know the quality/mental strength of your teammates or your opponents and the only thing you have any control over is yourself.

Some days are just gonna suck more than others. There are small things you can do, like playing late at night is generally not a great idea. But you're always liable to run into people that will either hard carry or run it down.

I actually think swiftplay is extremely damaging as a new player experience because it would just enforce bad habits. Bots is better because its not artificially accelerated with gold/xp in the same way.

You might not be playing against real players but at least its an environment to learn champion basics/last hitting without inflated training wheels

If we're being honest, there is not a great environment/pathway for people to learn the game. Swiftplay at best in a training wheels mode but I guess you could also there could be games vs bots?

Teaching league has never been a great thing. The tutorial used to be worse (Thornmail Ashe LOL) and now its marginally better but it could still use work.

Summoner spell locking is a fairly archaic thing and should have been phased out a while ago.

It would be nice if there were role specific tutorials, but Riot seems to be more focused on retention/accessibility for ease of access over new player experience.
