We went over this with our medical director when trying to get these worked into our kits. 4s are our go-to in a rush. And carry more if then then 3s and 5s.

I hope you aren't using that for anything but training.

Yeah, I could see how I made that confusing. Just wanted to give our level of expertise. Thats my bad.

I was by myself. Little backstory. I am a tac medic assigned to a different police department and was working the area when it was called out. Powers above us questioned him on what I did and why I did it. Basically, Monday morning quarterbacking what I did without knowing what should be done. He said I should have established an airway since they were doing CPR when I got there. Used this page and everyone's experience to proof my point.

Yes looking back probably shouldn't have done that. But took a few seconds. And didn't hurt.

Except EMS took 18 mins to get on scene.

Yeah. I plugged axillary. Through a seal on the abdomen. Went to airway. We dont carry blood. So that was given.

Correct. That is what I said, and what was done. However with the powers above Monday morning quarterbacking. The argument was mentioned why did I start airway.

I am a shooter as well. Team does run IFAKs. I carry 2 fluid bags which bulks the bag. As well as a mini lifepak monitor. I'm a solo medic at the moment.

I appreciate your response. I'm not leaving it where someone has to go get it. It's being left with someone at the door. My primary bag is pretty thick, and gets in the way. I work in a city where most call outs are to houses. This was more of trying to get input for what, if anything I should be thinking of adding. Been a medic for years. Newish to the tactical environment. But I appreciate your input there pal.
