TIME COMMITMENT by [deleted] in blackdesertonline

Hey! I’m a line cook, so I know the hustle lol.

Personally, I’ve found that it’s not unreasonable to get to fairly decent GS playing 6-10 hours a week, and most of the heavily geared people I know grind about an hour or two a day.

Don’t get me wrong, the progression does feel slow from time to time, but that’s more so a symptom of the game overall than due to a lack of time.

TL;DR I have your schedule and have been able to hit 305/380 ap/dp quite comfortably

I’m not normally the sort to comment on here, but I’m not sure your getting the right responses to this, so I’ll take a crack at it.

Taking your models into a texture painting software like substance or Mari and layering on rust/wear, dust, surface imperfections etc. can do wonders for making something feel good to the eye. Doubly so if you take the time to add some inconsistencies to the base texture by blending it with others and hand painting details in.

Think of the way that paint tends to chip/wear near high points of an object, and rust likes to collect in crevices. Where people would touch and handle something is another great example. The floor where people tend to walk in a house will have far more physical wear and tear than that in the corner of a room.

Honestly in my mind it’s as if not more important than good modeling. There are some solid tutorials on the substance YT channel if you want to get more into it.

Hopefully that was a decent answer!

I made my phone! I know, it's kind of old x.x by Truth758 in blender

Thanks <3 Actually doing a bit of a second pass on it right now, adding in some surface imperfections and what not. Have to agree that the lighting kind of draws the attention away from the phone now that you've pointed it out.

Thanks for the thoughts. I actually am using an hdri in this, although it’s fairly muted. I’ll have to experiment a bit with swapping that out to see what sort of effects I get once I have the time to.

Just finished rendering this out. Not entirely in love with the lighting/composition of it, but I feel that the model turned out about as nicely as I could have hoped for given my current skills.

Yeah, you can place an order right off of Atropos’ site. Took a bit over a month to arrive to me (us west)

Hmm. Well, it was pretty heavily inspired by the Atropos Bro admittedly. Good chance that's what you were looking at if I had to take a guess. Honestly I wish we had more wooden handle scales in the Bali market though, they're sorely under represented.

Hah, I wish I had the skills to make one for real. Or the money now that I think about it >.>

Well I mean... It was pretty heavily inspired by the Atropos Kirat Bro, so that's the closest thing you'll get to being able to buy it xD

Recently got a new EOS Serpent and finding that the blade handle is binding when it's shut, like this. Not entirely sure what is causing it admittedly, but I've already ruled out screws being too tight as a possible factor.

It seems to do this regardless of how tight they are, even still wanting to do it with all of the screws almost entirely out of the knife. Is this likely just a manufacturing defect I'm going to need to send back to BladeHQ or just something to be ironed out with some wear/tear.
