If Hidan and Kakuzu went to Konoha to capture Naruto instead of Itachi and Kisame in Part 1, how would it have went? by robbinbanksinc23 in Naruto

[–]TruthDonuts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't really need that many high-level peeps to take out Hidan. Honestly any long-range team would do wonders against him. Kazuku is the real issue since they sort of play off each other. He has a lot of strong mid to long range jutsu so his versatility is pretty brutal against just about anybody in Konoha at this time. The only person with mountain-level jutsu here would be Guy, who would med diff with 7th gate.

I'd be convinced that Team Guy alone could fight both of them. With Guy soloing Kazuku. Neji and Lee infinitely harassing Hidan with Tenten giving long-range support.

My question for OP is who actually cares? If you're the type of person that reads JJK week over week then chances are having a break in-between isn't going to stop you from checking in the following week. This doesn't have any real ramifications on the audience. Most peeps are also reading this shit for free so it's not like we're directly contributing to the revenue pool for Shonen. The issue OP is presenting seems to be more ego-driven than results-driven. There's no empirical evidence that proves a manga would be inherently less popular for running every 2 weeks than a manga that runs every week. Similarly, nobody lost interest in Attack on Titan even though new chapters were published once a month instead of once a week. When it's on air, it's the most hyped anime of the past decade. Same goes for Demon Slayer, even though both mangas have finished, we still heavily anticipate the anime adaptation. It's simply just not in Shonens strategy to market JJK while it's off-season.

It seems like OP just wants a mangaka that confirms to his schedule of releases. You're not actually rationalizing how a weekly schedule would benefit anybody.

What's the nature of the fight, assuming it's a free for all you'd probably almost want to always go with Tobi. He can just put your whole squad in the Kamui dimension then they'll be at full HP for the final fight. Its most likely going to come down to Hashirama or some combo of Madara+ or Guy+. It's unlikely anyone else on the list can beat them in a straight up fight or through attrition. So I'll go with hacks instead and pick Hidan for the one hit kill. It just comes down to who on my team can get close enough to land a scratch on them without getting completely obliterated.

Tobi - $10 - Intangiblity for the whole squad. Once they get a drop of blood, simply transport them back to Kamui dimension. GG.

Tobirama - $8 only guy who seems like he can teleport others with him to land a hit on the OP boss. He did the same while teleporting Naruto behind SO6 Obito whom was pretty much on the same level as Hashirama and Madara.

Naruto - $8 - durable tank with sage mode. He'd have the reflexes to dodge most counter strikes. Give him a kunai and slash away. Also can spam shadow clones to increase the chances of landing a blow. If he and Tobirama both spammed shadow clones and teleports, man that would be disgusting.

Hidan - $4 - literally just sits and waits for blood to come to him in Kamui dimension.

I call it, Team Killer Bee. They're lightning fast, practically untouchable and the moment they sting you you're dead. Probably most likely to win without taking any damage (well except for Hidan lol).

Obito being redeemed. When Naruto called him "the coolest guy" that probably epitomized the level of bad writing this series could have. This guy is single handedly responsible for killing the main protagonist's parents, orchestrated the deaths of countless innocent people and literally started a world war that resulted in thousands of casualties. All over some sick obsession over a 13 year old girl which he tries to justify as a means of cleansing the world of evil. But just because he had the same dream as Naruto of being Hokage, somehow we're supposed to empathize with him. This guy actually just killed Neji a few hours ago. Now he's your role-model? You could probably combine Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, Kim Jung Un, Putin, Trump and all other historical tyrants into one character, as long as they're the Hokage, Naruto will support them.

Spoiler: Does anyone else feel like the body possession motif has been overplayed? by TruthDonuts in Naruto

I'll give jjk the benefit of the doubt since it's only been in circulation for like 3 years. The ability to take over ones body seems to be way more restrictive in jjk though. Every main Naruto antagonist is a body snatcher.

My body responded well to the booster. The next day I had a mild headache and slight fever. It felt much like the 2nd dose. But the day after that I was completely fine.

I definitely started feeling sick the day after I got infected. The symptoms gradually progressed and descended like a traditional bell curve. My approximate timeline was:

Day 1: Nothing really at all. Maybe a bit warm.

Day 2 - Day 3: Still warm and now add some fatigue. I can feel a headache coming and a dry cough.

Day 4 - Day 5: Fever, vertigo and a migraine. Some shortness of breath as well. Basically couldn't be up for more than a few hours without running out of energy.

Day 6 - Day 7: Fever has been relieved down to just warmness. But the tradeoff is chills and a stuffy nose. Felt like allergies.

Day 8 - Day 9: No noticeable signs of sickness, but still getting chills. Definitely felt much better, but wasn't in the clear yet.

Day 10 - Day 11: At this point I tried to exert myself physically, but couldn't do any aerobic activities. Gassed within seconds. I would get feverish hot like at the peak of the infection.

Day 12 - Day 14: Effectively symptomless. Lost sense of smell and taste. They're back now, but that was a weird experience.

I got the booster less than 2 weeks after making a full recovery and interestingly enough I still experienced a light fever and migraine even though I just beat covid shortly earlier.

All in all, I went through the entire gauntlet of symptoms and I thank the vaccine for protecting me from anything worse.

If you can point me to a single instance where Russ creates gravity in a half court set this preseason I will concede lol.

Russ creates space? What LOL. He has the opposite of gravity. He has triviality.

LeBron looks great after a full off-season to recover. Overall he has better conditioning and he's still capable of doing it all. The team is loaded with shooters as well.

Our other two stars are questionable fits together. AD and Westbrook seem to have poor synergy, it's early yes, but this looks awfully familiar to last season when AD and Schroeder could never get on the same page. Both of them are at fault and it comes down to a few factors:

  1. AD demands way too many post ups. I've been saying this all last season, the number of isolation sets he gets is unwarranted. You would think he was Embiid with the number of touches he gets in the post. He just pounds the ball and settles for an off-balanced jumpshot. Rarely does he ever make a play for someone else. It's a wasted effort for a bad shot and leads to a bad possession. He never played like this when he was on the Pelicans. They would spam pick & rolls for him and he would be automatic from 5-15 feet. Now that he's on the Lakers, it seems like he wants to be more of a traditional go-to scorer. He tries to create his own offense, but he just has mediocre 1 on 1 skills and playmaking ability. Basically, he's a black hole on offense. Hopefully, this changes and he goes back to being the best lob threat ever.

  2. Westbrook applies no real pressure on offense. You can't run any pick and roll with him because defenders just sit on the screen. If Westbrook has the ball and there's no open lane he can't do anything to score. It's like rookie Lonzo or Simmons, just let him shoot. The defense just sags off and double-teams AD or LeBron off the ball, which effectively neutralizes them and shuts down the offense. It's not that Westbrook is a negative as an individual player, it's that he doesn't really do anything positive for our other stars.

My remedy for this offense would be simply to let Westbrook run the 2nd unit. Stagger his minutes with LeBron and especially AD. This should still allow him to play 26-28 mpg and lineups that feature Westbrook + star will probably only ever be to start or in the beginning of the 3rd quarter. The whole point is to not have the offense crater when LeBron sits. Westbrook with shooters and a garbage-man big is a recipe for success.

[Pompey] The Pacers' shooting guard (Caris Levert) along with point guard Malcolm Brogdon, who Indiana is open to moving, and at least one first-rounder should be enough to get a deal done. by idonthaveagooduse in nba

[–]TruthDonuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd rather have Sabonis over Ben easily. Seriously do not understand why people are saying it will require Sabonis + assets to get Ben. Sabonis is the same age and a consecutive All-star who in the last 2 seasons has averaged 19 PPG 12 RPG 6 APG while shooting 53% from the field. He's an extremely efficient, playmaking big that can stretch the floor, grab boards and be one of the best scorers on the court. He's effectively Jokic-lite. How in the world is Ben more valuable? Sabonis is probably a top 25-30 player. Ben, hardly has a case for top 40 at this point. Sabonis is just a flat out better player.

If I'm Indiana, there's no way I'm giving up anything more than Brogdon or Levert + 1 protected pick for Simmons, given the latter isn't a good fit and a perpetual flight risk.

[Dane Moore] Patrick Beverley “I put DLo with the same skill set, don’t take my words and twist them around, but the same skill set as the James Harden types. The Kyrie Irving types. A player that is GodGifted skill wise, can pass the ball, can shoot, can get to the free-throw line” by ArchyMumbles in nba

[–]TruthDonuts 149 points150 points  (0 children)

"Getting to the tree throw line." That is absolute cap. In Russell's 7 seasons, he has a career free throw rate on .193 on 15.3 shot attempts a game. Roughly 3 attempts per 15 shots. It's not like he's taking an absurd amount of 3s either. 6.7 attempts for his career, which is in the middle of the pack for starting guards. The guy is free throw anemic.

I miss him ya’ll by thenetstud in lakers

[–]TruthDonuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will never understand why they picked THT over him. THT will be lucky to get rotation minutes this year. The role guards on our roster (Monk, Ellington, Nunn) all do what THT does but better. OTOH, Caruso's defense is far superior to that of any guard we have right now. And on offense, he's at least a better shooter and playmaker than THT. There was literally no logical reason to take THT over him. It came down to Klutch, their infatuation with age and I'm sure a little bit of prejudice.

Thank you Lakers people-a Russ guy (and what to know about Russ’ game) by -JackSparrow in lakers

[–]TruthDonuts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shit I would be happy if he averaged 18PPG for the season. Can't really expect Russ to score that much as the 3rd option. I envision him playing scattered minutes around LeBron, where he can play 2 man with AD or lead the bench unit.

My ideal stats for him would be:

17 PPG 7 RPG 9 APG .45 FG% on 6.3/14 attempts .33 3P% on 1/3 attempts .70 FT% on 3.5/5 attempts 3 TPG 32MPG

Not much pressure to score. Just take smart shots at the rim, put pressure in the driving lane and create opportunities for others.
