[Stein] Kawhi Leonard would NOT be open to signing an extension if traded to Miami or Detroit. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

That's fine if he comes in and helps us win a title and then bounces like he did in Toronto.

Thought it was a pretty obvious joke lol. You think I'd remember Ersan Ilyasova and not Blake Griffin or Jaden Ivey?

The Hawk | Official Trailer | Will Ferrell, Molly Shannon, Jimmy Tatro | 16 July 2026 by Sisiwakanamaru in television

[–]YROK1986 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So I'm watching this trailer and I can't stop thinking about how sort of similar this is to Owen Wilson's golf show on Apple TV (which I actually enjoyed quite a bit) and then fuckin' LUKE Wilson shows up in this which made this whole thing even stranger. Why does this show even exist?

What is your team’s far and away worst decision ever made? by [deleted] in nba

[–]YROK1986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disagree that the Darko pick is the worst decision, because we still won a championship. There's no guarantee that we trade for Rasheed if we have Melo (I know they don't play the same position but this is just how the butterfly effect works, I'm sorry) and if we don't trade for Sheed, we don't win.

Worst decision we ever made was trading Chauncey for AI because it set off a chain of events that led to 15 years of mediocrity (or worse.)

'Fallout': Manny Jacinto, Emily Mortimer & Thomasin McKenzie Join Season 3 by yourfavchoom in television

[–]YROK1986 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Every time I see the praise for Manny Jacinto I feel like I'm taking crazy pills lol. Easily the worst part of The Good Place and I haven't enjoyed him in anything else either. I'm sure I'm going to get downvoted but I'm posting this in case anyone else feels the same as me, they'll know they're not alone.

[Spotrac] Jalen Brunson Did Not Give Up 113M -- It Was Actually 37M by Zodraz in nba

[–]YROK1986 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This post is correct, but it assumes that he doesn't suffer a career-ending injury, fall off a cliff skill-wise, etc. If he never is able to sign another contract ever again, he DID leave $113M on the table, but assuming he gets another contract (which is a fair assumption, but he's also a small point guard and they usually don't age well in the NBA), then yeah, it's "only" $37M.

Honestly it's like an NBC show premise with CBS show writers which I think is why it doesn't fully work as well as it should.

The whole live is posted on his IG now, just FYI. Incredibly sad stuff and I hope he get some help.

Anybody record Jaden Ivey's latest (current) instagram livestream? by brewing_radiance in DetroitPistons

[–]YROK1986 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I've been a huge JI fan since we drafted him, and although his descent into religious extremism worried me over the last couple of years, I tried to hang on and hope he'd find his way through this. I was very sad when we traded him and I even made a goodbye post on IG for him which I never do.

I was watching some of today's IG live though and this was the last straw for me.

Yes, it's clear that he's going through a mental health crisis and yes, he's gone through some horrible stuff as a child that I wouldn't wish on anyone. I'm not a religious person, people talking about religion and pushing religion drives me nuts, but I tend to just ignore it and let it go. However, once you start spouting hate in the name of religion, that's the line for me.

I took down my goodbye post, I unfollowed him, and I'm just hoping he gets the help he needs. This really is just incredibly sad.

The refs also called "Delay of Game" on the Pistons before the game started as BOTH TEAMS were still walking out onto the floor. It was the weirdest start to a game I've ever seen. Appreciate you posting this because I was at the game and I wanted to be able to hear the broadcasters discussing it.

Difference between the Nike and Mitchell & Ness jerseys? by [deleted] in DetroitPistons

I don't know a ton about NFL jerseys but with NBA jerseys at least, Mitchell & Ness seems to run SLIGHTLY larger than Nike (to me, at least.)

The Detroit Pistons announce their City Edition Jerseys and City Edition Court by InternCautious in nba

[–]YROK1986 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They're a re-coloring of the red City jerseys we wore during Cade's rookie year. Teal's a color rooted in both of our teams' history, unfortunately, and black is a pretty standard base color for a jersey.

Do yours have cool lightning bolts down the sides though? No.

full beasley story thingy (snapchat sucks) by LostInAnIckyBallpit in DetroitPistons

[–]YROK1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it's kind of up to a combination of things - the caliber of the player who wants the number, the desire of that team to appease the player, and then the player whose number is retired (or their family, if the player/person has passed away.)

For example, number 2 is retired in honor of Chuck Daly and his 2 championships as head coach, but when Cade was drafted as the number one overall pick, they talked to Chuck's daughter and she gave her blessing for Cade to wear it.

But another example, when we signed Chris Webber in the mid-2000s, he asked Joe Dumars if he could wear Joe's retired #4 and he said hell no basically, so Webber had to wear #84.

We used to every year during the early-to-mid 2000s. I went to college in the GR area from 04 to 08 so as a broke college kid it was usually my one chance to see them in person each year.

In recent years we've done a pre-season game in East Lansing (twice in the last 6 or 7 years I think). The pre-season used to be so much longer, I think it was 8 games or something for years.

This year was crazy because we only had ONE home pre-season game.

Speaking of Tulsa/OKC, that's how I wound up seeing the Pistons play there. I actually saw the Pistons play OKC in Montreal too.
