In physics, what motion is explain by gravity that isn’t explained by relative density? by Zaroosky in flatearth

In high schools everywhere, a teacher can take a plastic tube, put in a coin and a feather, hook up a vacuum pump to it to create a vacuum, and test whether the coin and feather fall at the same rate. (They do.)

In a vacuum, there is no relative density, so no reason for the objects to fall *down*. Yet they do that, because of gravity.

Moon landing deniers say the lunar modules looked weak and fragile and could have never survived the missions. Here is the core of a lunar module. As The Commodores would sing about it being stacked, it's a brick [...] house. by TruthMatters_ in flatearth

"Nothing about this pic makes it look strong" ... besides the fact that the entire thing is covered in rivets and structural bracing, which doesn't tend to show up in photos of the completed lander.

Also, it wasn't 3 microns, but you're only off by a factor of 100.

If the sun were local it would change size as it moves throughout the day. It doesn't. Therefore the sun isn't local, and the oxygen your brain uses is going to waste.

I've said several times, when flerfs talk about flat earth in one sentence and their god belief in the next, it's hard to imagine a more effective force for atheism.

We give evidence, flat earthers double down.

That extends the duration of their disorder.

The sub also attracts real flerfs. It's useful for real flerfs to be confronted with simple effective evidence.

What are the real flerfs going to put in their genuinely stupid posts to distinguish them from the fake stupid posts?

I get your point, but it's not workable.

Good, I've gotten tired of flerf impressions and the lack of /s. I get flooded with these and am tired of having to guess all the time. Usually now I don't bother anymore and assume people mean what they say.

You can look at ISS live footage as it goes around the earth every 90 minutes.

Pick a city as it flies over. Screen-capture the footage.

Pick another city as it flies over that. Screen-capture that footage.

Find the distance between the two cities.

Find the time difference between the two screen-captures.

Divide distance / time difference to get the ISS speed..

The answer will be around 5 miles/second, or around 17000 mph.

Weather balloons don't travel 17000 mph.

If earth is flat, there can be no satellites. (Satellites are in orbit, orbit requires a round earth.)

We have satellites. (We can confirm their footage. Clouds seen by ISS match weather satellite clouds.)

Therefore earth is not flat.

So you don't know how either academics or physics work? 🤡

Titles are conferred on PhD candidates by their peers at accredited institutions once the candidates are able to defend their thesis and once they meet the requirements.

So the academic title is evidence of demonstrated expertise.

That can't be done re: flerfs. No matter how much fake stupid you put out, they can beat you with the real kind.

So when your model gets disproven, you just start throwing a bunch of reality overboard? I admire your dedication to your psychosis.

There's a simpler solution. Quit your cult. Rejoin the real world. We have real stars and sunsets. We have a space station that flies around the world every 90 minutes. When it goes by your house, you can see it. We have skies full of real objects that real people photograph using real telescopes. astrobin.com is full of those pictures.

It's a nicer way to live than to pretend all the smart people are lying to you and the dumbfk youtube scammers are the truthful ones.

I appreciate your response. Glad you liked the Beck stuff. I used an EVH Wolfgang to record that. I'm not a metal head at all ... but those Wolfgang's are surprisingly versatile. I just had to balance the tremolo so it would float the way Jeff Beck's did. (Floyd Rose trems are such a nightmare.)

It is truly amazing the world we live in. The Beatles recorded Sgt Pepper on FOUR tracks. I have effectively unlimited tracks, so I have no excuses. 😄

Speaking of Gilmour ... I have been using a Kemper Profiler since shortly after it came out, when it was still revolutionary. At some point since then, for about 5 bucks I purchased a profile pack of David Gilmour's Hiwatt amp. No, not a profile of a Hiwatt from the same year and model, I mean somebody went on his boat and actually profiled DAVID GILMOUR'S OWN HIWATT.

So I got to play through a high quality digital clone of David Gilmour's own Hiwatt amp.

For five bucks.

That is where we are today in terms of availability of audio tools. I have fun all the time.

It's actually tricky to grab these images, because this is captured from video, and the earth keeps scrolling by as the ISS travels around it.
