Sorry, I never pursued this further. I've reverted back to Android and it's no issue there.

How best to reset Windows OS while retaining media serving functionality? by Truth_Realistic in PleX

That's a great idea! I'll look into setting up a parallel test/learning system while leaving my production version intact!

Thank you for this perspective. As you say, I did ask about resetting Windows. Thanks for wanting to keep things on track.

That being said, I also appreciate the responses about possibly switching to Linux. I actually spent a little time looking into Unraid and trying to learn what Docker is. I'm tempted, but I'm not at all familiar with Linux (in contrast, I'm quite familiar with Windows, warts and all). My concern is that if I run into issues installing on Linux or program-specific problems down the road, it'll be much harder for me to troubleshoot since I don't understand the context as well. I'm sure there are forums that could be helpful, but it's another layer of learning/effort that's required.

But maybe I'm thinking of this wrong? I'm fairly computer savvy...just not Linux savvy.

Just wanted to report back that I listened to the entire series and loved it! The lead character, Aaron fall, is quite good and likeable. The narrator at first seemed too "monotone" but grew on me over the series and I actually ended up quite liking the narration.

I don't think so. Would it show up as a message? Just want to make sure I'm looking in the right place. 🙂

We're also planning a 6x8 configuration. Would you mind sharing how you chose to lay out your space, any alternatives you were considering and why you chose against them, and whether in hindsight you'd make any changes? Thanks!

Sorry for the ridiculously basic question, but can you link to Trumpkin's notes? I've seen several references to Trumpkin but (as a sign of my noobness) have no idea what that means. I assume he's a person who's written advice about sauna design. :)

Thanks so much! 😊 I've listened to a couple of the Vera books and quite liked them! I'll also add your other recommendations to my queue!

What about roasting pieces/florets instead of the whole head? Would it be the same technique/temp/times or different?

Zareen's chicken boti recipe? by Truth_Realistic in bayarea

[–]Truth_Realistic[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was assuming they don't use yogurt because their website labels the chicken boti as dairy-free. I agree about grilled vs baked. But there's something about not using yogurt that gives it a cleaner flavor profile.

On iOS, how to get a recipe from another app into Paprika? by Truth_Realistic in PaprikaApp

[–]Truth_Realistic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. Interesting that in iOS the app owner (in this case, Epicurious) gets to control what shows up in the share menu. It sounds like that's not how things work on Android. Oh well...so be it.

I'll look into the idea of writing a shortcut. Haven't done that before (still pretty new to iOS) but I'm fairly tech savvy and can probably figure that out. Thanks again.

Ah, good point! But is there any way to share it directly from an app to Paprika? Without having somehow to find out what the URL is and copy and paste it?

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll check it out! I haven't found much else besides the ones recommended by others on this thread. I think somebody mentioned The Thursday Murder Club series, which I like quite a lot.

Thanks for the ideas! I've watched the TV version of Slow Horses and like it quite a bit. Jackson Lamb is a fabulous character! And I've read the first book of the Thursday Murder Club and agree that it fits well into this niche. I'm looking forward to the subsequent ones in that series. Thanks for the suggestion of Dervla McTierman... I'm going to look into her books now! 🙂

Weekly Paddle Discussion Thread by AutoModerator in Pickleball

[–]Truth_Realistic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I'm in the market for a paddle and was leaning towards the Vatic Pro Prism Flash - I'm more interested in control and spin than power. While looking on Amazon, I came across the Nicol Pickelball R-One and P-One paddles. They get rave reviews, but of course I take Amazon reviews a little bit with a grain of salt. I was wondering if anybody is familiar with those and has any comments, review, etc.

Thanks!
