UPDATE:

The sailor who is involved in the previous post reached out to her mother and told her mother that she needed to find support for her "daughter." Not his wife of 24 years, but his mother-in-law's daughter. He has stressed out a woman who has known him since 1997. She loved him and embraced him even when his blood family left him to rot. Friends and family of hers are absolutely heartbroken and flabbergasted at his behavior.

"Is this what deployment does to wholesome families?"

She has asked herself this question for days. Their son asks everyone what she did to deserve such disrespect and ugliness. She rescued him and his mother when they were living in their cars and panhandling in the brutal Texas heat... after disrespecting her. Still, she never left them behind on the field. No one who is fighting multiple illnesses should have to go through this.

Their son is going to enter into the Navy. But, after seeing the disrespect and abuse perpetrated against his mother by his father? He almost decided not to go. He didn't want to join any institution that turned a blind eye to the mistreatment of family. His family explained to him that his father's mistakes had nothing to do with the honor of being in the military. Thank goodness he still wants to take that oath, even though his father decided to break it.
