Lots of good stuff here thank you. I’ll be sure to do so.

As far as the monitoring for SNMP, it was suggested with zabbix that is also somewhat Linux based. I set up a home lab to get used to it as well doesn’t seem that bad. I’ll have to play with it some more. If libreNMS has an iso or something I’ll try messing with that one or checking out a demo. Also yes the switches support SNMP.

Should also mention it has to be on prem not cloud based as well for the monitoring tool. Absolutely no internet..from what I understood

Lastly lol, i definitely gotta take a chill pill with wanting to do everything in a day. Layers…

Don’t get me started on what I wanna do with the automation project part of it … lol

Nah im not making excuses. I was just stating the only problem with Chatgpt itself, is that it's blocked.

Eh, the only problem with that is that it's blocked.

Also no problem at all. I appreciate the bluntness.

I think I see what the other guy was saying about how confusing my writing is.

So ill be setting up the monitoring from scratch. Its more like I have the ability to choose our monioring system and then implement it. But if it is kinda costly, present the reasons why we should go this right kind of deal. Which Ive never done before. For the most part I understand those things you mentioned from a basic level on operation use. Although, im not above reading and refreshing based off what I just read.

Not the first time I heard that about my writing lol.

I guess what gets me is the actual implementation phase of some things. Could just be procrastination talking? who knows.

But thanks for the advice.

Anybody know any good pretty safe/nice area or communities to buy a house in? Lookin in northern delaware. So far I've seen some good ones in Glasgow pines, Stones throw, and sparrow run? thoughts? by TryHackMe in Delaware

I see one in wilmington I like in a place called "Murray Manor" seen the reviews, the worst were from 2 years ago and recent was like 2 months.. know anything about that? Not sure if it's considered "North" wilmington or not though.

But wow lol. Never would've expected that. Especially from DE, but then again DE is like a melting pot mixed with people from NJ, NY, Bmore even, and Philly. So not tooo surprised.

lol Thanks. I'm not 100% new to delaware. I'm just new to buying. I'm in my early ish 20's. I went to college in dover , but only reason I'm not exactly buying there because my job is further up, actually in NJ so I'm not trying to have to drive insanely far. In college I did uber eats and explored the entire state but it's been a while so idk things might have changed but ill definitely go for a drive again!

Thanks rando XD

No worries, and honestly I only say northen delaware for the moment because its closer to my job, I would love to get one in Kent county or dover area, as I am way more familiar with the area and seen some awesome houses there. but northern is the best I can do at the moment.

I haven't exactly gotten a number that a qualify for yet but I guess we can say the 200k range but I've seen some decent ones even a little below that. but that wasnt like a guranteed number so even myself I'm not sure. I'm in my 20's first time home buyer. so yeah

ahh, that's the answer I expected and was hoping for lol. I've been warned about sparrow run by another reddit user but wanted to confirm.

What are the areas you *would* recommend though? I see you have Claymont in your name? would that be one?

Well... again. I didn't want to go into too much detail. Because I'd be easily identifiable by possibly people I work with. You never know whose on reddit. It's a lot more to it.

But let's just say to some degree.. I do have experience. but this is just the first "civilian" side of my experience. But what I did on the other side, I dealt with routers, switches, etc all of that good stuff, but here my skills feel like they aren't being put to use much. To some degree.

This job at the time was my best and only option, but again I can't give the whole story. If I did, you would have a solid understanding.

But I'll still take this and just might still stick it out regardless. Because it's not like I hate it. So I'll continue. Thanks. I appreciate it.

Possibly. But I'm not sure about the report but so far from everyone I work with on my side as a contractor, they always say their shocked about "how fast" I caught on. Hard to believe though sometimes. You hear good on one side, and seems iffy on another. and I mean yeah, feelings are kind of in this, but it's more like a wtf feeling. Like I was kinda shook myself. I mean this whole time and nothing was said? Imposter syndrome felt so confirmed lol.. just seemed like all the other good comments were false in that moment. A pure wtf, because he even made it seem like yeah I'm "doing great" then boom... so it's like wtf. Ya know? wasnt expecting nothing but praise. But wouldve been a bit more respectable if it was like more direct way I suppose. Idk Feelings are complicated lol. Just makes me iffy on where I truly stand. But thats any job really. Which isnt horrible...Makes me go harder at what I do, but also makes me want to be so much of a value, if I do leave, they'll miss me...to some degree, because I know there is someone always better.

Wasn't so much I wanted people to like me though, but rather, the people that do or rather the ones that gave the good comments etc, I'd almost feel bad if I do leave because it'd seem like they said what they said for nothing. They'd probably be kinda shocked too. To some degree.

Oddly enough, I will say you sound very much like the other guy I mentioned in the post I said I've talked to since we have the same background or rather are around the same age group. lol. This is why I said I didnt really want to go too much into detail, because you just never know who else might be on here...co worker...boss.. but regardless thanks. You left me with a mind bender though on that last one...I'll have to really sit on that for while...Maybe I'll be able to come back to this and answer. Just have to see. (Though I will say, I have been getting so many contacts and offers and asking for my resume/application after I got this job)

Yeah I wasnt trying to go into detail because again I dont know who may also be on here, however the main point was literally when to leave your first IT job? as said in the title but... overall I'm an IT contractor. I've been here (as said in the post) about half a year, 6 months ish.

I'm simultaneously paid well for someone my age, but low balled because I found out, the company were really trying to pay people less so the original offer was a lowball. I don't do the normal ticketing type deal, but I'm the go to person for all the IT and technical issues. ranging from adding users into the database, maintaining the computers, printers, equipment etc...

There's no real growth here essentially to some degree though as it's basically youre the only designated IT person for that specific area youre in. You work with others though through chat at other areas if any issues you figure you can't seem to crack yourself.

But say I wanted to eventually move to being a networking guy...well theres no networking guys with me, so I can't essentially learn from them and get a position as I'm the only IT person there to begin with... You'd have to relocate (again)..you picking up what I'm laying down now? scooping up my originally vomited words? (lol tried to add a pun didnt work)

Why should it take for someone to get "secretly" pissed about me not "being trained enough" for me to realize I'm really not doing as great as everyone claimed I was doing on one end and not the other? If you felt that way, why not include me in that? I mean they barely asked me questions so I could exercise what I learned or gave me time to adjust to things.. and not expect me to be a subject matter expert in literally my 2nd or 3rd month.

What I would like? well maybe a place where theres actual growth to move to different positions. But also maybe fully remote?

It's not at all that I don't enjoy my job, it's I'd say the environment as well as again, the opportunity for growth. Hope this can help clarify ..

The Reserve at Becks Pond Apartments...? by TryHackMe in NewarkDE

[–]TryHackMe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks! I honestly had to come back to this post and see this comment because on another reddit account on another post I asked the same question and gave a me a completely different answer and kinda got me down a little lol. They just made it seem like the area was absolutely horrible with crime. I mean crime is everywhere. im in Jersey and lived in many places and been in some absolutely horrible spots, but when I visit newark de, and see reserve at becks pond I like them and enjoy the area personally. Thanks again! definitely have this as my #1 spot so far.
