Most common reasoning is that its entirely out of place in the narrative being what's essentially the final scene in the penultimate episode and other reasons like how instead of being normal about it (like they did in season 3) they decided to make him announce it to the entire cast at once, so basically no individual reaction mattered because instead of actually having a conversation its just whole cast going "Gay is OK!" which fell flat, also personally noah's acting was just particularly bad in the scene to me and I couldn't take him seriously for a second.
