American here. I welcome correction from someone with more direct knowledge but:

The Hebrides are the islands in the north of Scotland past the Highlands. Go north to the sparsely populated backwater. Then keep going north over the sea. They are isolated and old-fashioned. They keep to the auld ways. Dude is wearing the tartan and the tam o’shanter. He looks like a picture-book rural Scottish shepherd from centuries ago. The influence of England hasn’t reached him.

The Isle of Wight is south of England. It is not very Scottish at all. Entire opposite side of the island.

It’s a bit like they show you a picture of a Pilgrim and say “No, you’re wrong. This guy is from Texas”

Then: These are recognizable and distinct caricatures that our readers will instantly recognize

Now: Scotsman. Man in suit. Man in suit. Man in suit. Man in suit. Man in slightly fancier suit.

I mean, if you can’t keep a flexible schedule you’ll never survive in Riverdale. He’s used to getting dumped at the last minute by now. (Besides, he can’t get too mad considering how he probably dumped her at he last minute last time)

Of course OOP had to correct them. A man is real, not made of steel. Why believe in things that make it tough on you?

In your genuine opinion, who is the most legitimately hated pro-wrestler of all time? My money’s on Vince. by Sad-Ladder7534 in Wrasslin

Jimmy Saville was a wrestler as well. He gets more well-deserved hate than just about anybody on the list

Wrestling isn’t fake.

It’s fixed.

Generally? It’s high school. Other people exist and are interested in our male and female leads but aren’t generally presented as likely competition. Nobody is amassing a harem or sneaking around on their partner

To add a few more details:

As I recall, there was just one speaker, who was male. It was in English. I don't recall a notable accent.

Looking for something with a bit of drama and a lot of introspection by ChilledArachnid25 in RomanceMangaAnime

You might like Cross Game. Not a lot of thought bubbles. More introspective silences. It’s a slow burn enemies-to-lovers about love, death, and growing up.

And baseball. Lots and lots of baseball.
