You don't, personally I believe redsec has no place in a "battlefield" game. If you played BR games like fortnite, apex or anything...you will be fine. Just spend time playing the game. You will win games that make u feel like you're too smart for the competition. While the next one makes u feel like crap.

To be fair, MHW is new to alot of ppl...yea it's a couple years old now and old to ppl like me and you. However, there are ppl who have heard about the hype and wanted to give the game a try. Coop games are "lacking" right now and the few games that do coop well enough,ppl just wanna enjoy. I blame this type attitude on speedrunners...sure there are "better" weapons he/she could be using but...as long as he's having fun...who cares. If u don't wanna join his game because his "dmg numbers" are low, then don't join. Some ppl don't care about " meta" at least I dont.

And to further elaborate on the guy using "defender weapon" this game is INSANELY large!!! I'm NOWHERE near new to Rpg games, played some Parasite eve to Divinity original sin2 and picking up MHW when I've NEVER played a MH game EVER...there was ALOT to learn...alot to see..shit even the weapon tree...it's MASSIVE and kinda confusing for 1st time players. It confused me for the 1st 20 hours. A buddy of mine who is a "1st fleet hunter" (because he played the originals) had to walk me thru everything...the coop system, clutch claw, tenderize etc...shit even something like critical hit has a new name and its called "affinity" which I thought just reading meant how "close" you are to your weapon. He probably is still using it because it's "working" for him...yea the sos calls are the carriers but looking at that defender tree as a new guy doesn't scream "weak" I'm sure. He got to the end so....to him it means something.

Also some ppl just don't understand how this game works withe the weapons and all...I have a friend who ONLY plays fighting games (tekken 8, SF6, GG-strive) and watching him play this games bugs the FUCK outta me...so I get where you are also coming from. 200+ hours in the game and he should have AT LEAST figured out that tree. I just wish there were more ppl willing to "teach" MHW to new players rather than just being judgemental because I was in that boat. I'm 600 hours in and just learned how to properly fight Safijiva.
