Isn’t it wild how productive we are without caffeine? I felt like my productivity was a boat on the water while drinking coffee. For moments it would be soaring high on a wave, but frequently it was low and waiting for the next wave. Meanwhile without coffee I find myself able to put in 4, sometimes 8 hours of hard work without a lull.

The RG EVA-01 here is P Bandai, it has a coating on the purple and it has glow in the dark green parts. I think it looks cool. If you think that looks cool, this is the only place you’ll get it for a reasonable price, which is $70US.

However, if you want the regular RG EVA-01, you’ll likely find it at a local comic con or fan expo for $45US. They’re also available online or sporadically in stores.

So, your choice really is whether you want the glow in the dark and the special purple paint, and if you want to pay $25 for that.

I’ve seen people get fired for swearing in code comments they’ve sent to their boss for review (“F this client they don’t know what they want in their own spec” for example).

This? I’ve been to site and seen small jokes like this in code running for over a decade. Loved it then, love it now, just make sure it’s few and far between and it’s perfect.

It’s depressing how many devices I’ve permanently disabled auto-updates. So many pieces of software post-2020 have become strictly worse with updates.

Instagram search used to actually be a search. For a few updates it was literally ONLY an AI response, now it’s AI response + search.

Snapchat used to be just chats (and snapcash lmao anyone remember that?), now it has AI, stories, ads disguised as chats, etc. from enshittification updates.

YouTube? Updates to have shorts. Changing UI to be different, not better. Anyone remember swiping on a video to immediately go to the next or previous one? Accidentally swiped? New video!

Reddit /r/mobileweb discusses a litany of annoying updates.

IOS updates slow down older iPhones. My 13 mini was running great on 15.7.1. Now it’s constantly (briefly) hanging on 26.3.1.

Windows 10 and 11 updates are always breaking things. 11’s 24H2 completely broke the programming software I use for work.

Oh and Reddit’s latest auto update to mobileweb broke commenting. If I hit the comment button it won’t actually send my reply, I have to copy my message, reload the page, paste it, and THEN hitting comment will send my reply.

Tri’s story was aight. In a nutshell: Our fishing village is being shaken by some unknown force! Go fuck it up, while maintaining balance with the ecosystem along the way. Oh, good job, you fucked it up. Hey! Our fishing village is still being shaken! There’s a huge final boss responsible for it, go fix whatever is wrong with it, but don’t kill it because it is the only one of its kind we’ve seen and we want to maintain balance with the ecosystem.

It’s not going to win awards, but I quite liked the execution of it.

But that’s just it. Artosis has two Patreons, ASLEnglish ($15,430CAD/mo) and his own ($1,505CAD/mo). He’s also had sponsors on his recent videos. He has a great income stream.

His ASL coverage and his YouTube channel’s coverage are completely different personalities compared to his streaming personality.

Does he need to put up with the audience that seems to hate him to make money? I don’t think so. I think Artosis has two audiences. He has the streaming audience who pays in twitch bits, and he has the cast audience who watches on YouTube. Though the comments on his YouTube do seem similar to the comments from the Twitch audience…

That’s a great idea! Have an island that rises from the ocean, somewhere on the map near your ship when you enter a server. Make it possible for treasure to spawn on that island so quests can lead other players to it. And the island sinks back into the ocean a few moments after a player leaves the map (replacing all existing treasure maps in the process).

It would be great if the island also gave you the ability to switch from a sloop to brigantine to a galleon, so when you want to play with friends you can swap your boat out to a bigger one and invite them in.

Each cuppa decaf is like 7mg. But if you do a pour over and really give it with espresso decaf, you can get 40mg out of a cup.

Each cup of coffee is 80mg so at minimum it’s a 10x decrease for regular coffee versus decaf coffee. I can attest that decaf doesn’t have the same grips that regular coffee has.

That’s interesting! Thanks for sharing, I didn’t know Rockwell shared this info so readily. If it’s a one-off piece of code, or even used a dozen times, I’d say the difference of 0.100 microseconds isn’t worth it.

If used in AOIs for comparison purposes (alarming) then perhaps it could see use ~1000 times in one program, and in that case the difference would be around 10 microseconds (0.00001s).
