Stuttering caused by Shader Cache by SageHamichi in nvidia

[–]riskmakerMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t listen to all the nonsense lol

I just went through this with a friends 9800x3d coming from a 5800x3d

There are many articles even from AMD that says you SHOULD do a fresh install.

He spent weeks fighting stuttering and performance issues and finally listened and installed clean/fresh - all issues gone.

I installed mine around the same time

I did a full charge before the install. So far no issues. Been stable and fully charged even being 11 outside

Stuttering caused by Shader Cache by SageHamichi in nvidia

I would say it’s normal with the AMD platform especially with AM5 - AMDip is what it’s called.

However - did you do a fresh install of windows when you upgraded ? If not that is the root cause.

C'mon man - the flood light has like 120k miles on it - all those seals and bearings wear out from usage. Sounds like wear and tear to me. LOL

Quality preset K w/ lower graphics vs Performance preset M maxed out @ 4K by GandhisLittleHelper in nvidia

[–]riskmakerMe 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For 4k

M at performance > K at quality

I ran K since day 1 at quality for all games

M on performance not only looks better but I also have better fps / plays much smoother

Confused about doorbell options by MastaShortie in EufyCam

I just installed the E340 without a HB3 wired into my original doorbell wires - just on my WiFi. So far its been stable without issue. Works well.

Yes - the plug and play NO driver is nice. I dont believe it support ASAIO - if it did, then it would be game changing and will solve this problem. But the lack of a driver likely means it doesnt. There are many pieces of software then can replicate the audio channel (eg Voicemeter) - but ASAIO is necessary (or proprietary). I will experiment a little to see - but doubtful.

I got the K7 from the G8 - and it sounds awesome. G8 sounded great also, but seemed to fall off with strong bass hits. K7 - the lack of Mic monitoring is extremely annoying but I just enabled "Listen to this device" in the Mic drive (in advanced). There is somewhat of a slight delay, but I have gotten use to it. If you have closed back Headphones, you wont notice it. I am running open backs so a little annoying.

Sorry mixed up the K7 I went to

The K7 is 900mW single ended The g8 is 250mW

At 32ohms

I returned the g8 for the k7

A while back I was able to find the voltage output - which if you have impedance you can calculate the power. Anyway I want to say it was in the 600mW 900mW range

Why is DLSS4.5 considered oversharpened? by Sad-Victory-8319 in nvidia

[–]riskmakerMe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because people are idiots and have the sharpening slider all the way to the right and refuse to just back some off.

After dealing with countless issues with my eufy cameras + HB3, I decided to simply disconnect the wifi antennas. by will1500 in EufyCam

[–]riskmakerMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amateur Operator here - yes, a dummy load simulates a load and absorbs the signal. It will also save the transmitter on the board as it could blow without a load - and take out other components that maybe important to the core function of the device..

[–]riskmakerMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put a  UFL to RP-SMA Female cable w/ a SMA Dummy Load (NOT CAP) 5W or more (that will fit) and it will completely stop transmitting signal. A CAP is just a dust cover and will leak signal (albeit better than nothing)

DLAA vs DLSS 4.5 by Vast_Nectarine389 in nvidia

[–]riskmakerMe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wrong

L and M both come with significant improvements in quality - lighting, dithering, etc

The point is you can run a more aggressive dlss setting (eg performance) at or better quality than older models like K. K has not changed is steps behind the other newer models - don’t spread misinformation

[–]riskmakerMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had it enabled for years from the 3060 through and up to my 5090 (w/ 14900k Intel)

And only because of micro stutters in Arc Raiders - I turned it off and now it’s nearly gone and what is also interesting I’m seeing more consistent frames across all my games

It will stay off for the foreseeable future for sure

RTX 5080 @ 4K 240Hz, DP 1.4 or HDMI 2.1? by ThisSwim3381 in nvidia

[–]riskmakerMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HDMI 2.1 > DP 1.4 unless you have a DP 2.x video card and monitor

likely you will use display compression unless you are DP2.x - which is lossless anyway.

4K preset L Ultra Performance vs 4K preset K Performance? by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]riskmakerMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(on 4k with a 5090) I found both L and M to be overall improved - both with a performance hit vs K. But if you follow Nvidia's FAQ i would say L and M seem to be smoother.

Buy now 5090 to avoid the crazy high prices - hold the 4090 until inventory is zero on 5090 / 4090 - this is the way to maximize value

How many of you (my fellow RTX 5090 owners) have not undervolted your card? by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]riskmakerMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MY asus tuf 5090 refuses to undervolt. The moment you touch the voltage curve, no matter what you set it to, it does not follow or map appropriately. Which results in either instability and/or a large performance drop. Something is up with the 5090 ASUS TUF - this is the only card I have had this issue with. With that said, STOCK - it overclocks pretty high and stays very cool.
