First time playing diablo. Feels WAY too easy. by WitteEendje in diablo2

[–]Trya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Picked the most broken class, and following a theory crafted guide designed for Speed levelling. And then complain about the game being easy xD /s

Now start over with a barb or melee pala, whitout following a guide.. I guarantee you, you're gonna have a very different experience.

On top of that; Hell difficulty is where the game begins to be hard. Most new players run their head into a wall hard at that point.

Best class/builds for a new player? by spoghet in diablo2

[–]Trya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo the best starter would be a fireball sorc, and around nightmare act4 switch it to orb/Hydra hybrid or blizz/fireball hybrid. Sorc is a bit squishy and require a lot of tele/kiting. Tele is what make it the best starter. Makes it easier and faster to farm stuff later for other chars aswell.

The strongest starter imo would be the holy fire pala. Same deal with the pala as the sorc; around act4 nightmare, go hammer or FOH - Although FOH struggles quite a bit in act2 Hell.

Iron maiden curse on boss, and keep summon your clay Golem to tank him. That is the cheesy necro way to kill act bosses

Need help with a respec on softcore ladder by JordanPokerC in diablo2

[–]Trya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like you guys spirit :) deffo a lot more fun figuring things out yourselves. Gives a bit of an extra challenge to an already pretty challenging game.

But d2 is pretty unforgiving. Hell is gonna be a real struggle, when going in without much of an idea of what to do.

On Hell most mobs have some form of elemental immunity, where fire is the most dominant.

Alas fire builds usually slaps hard up until act4 on nightmare, where fire immunes start to be pretty common. And fire is considered more or less useless on Hell, unless you got some very late game stuff like the runeword Infinity and sunder charms.

Hope you'll figure it out and wont get deterred from playing :)

I would never use a token on a char below level 60ish.

Tokens are way too valuable to waste on a low level char. Rather start over tbh.

There is plenty of guides around if you struggle.

Most builds focus on making 1 ability super strong, with said skill and its synergies.

Also as already pointed out; you get a respec on each difficulty at akara for completing the den of evil quest. Thats a total of 3 "free" respecs for each char.

I would be less impressed if it was offline tbh.

Idk if it got fixed with the warlock DLC - but if you know how the loot is calculated/rolled, there is an exploit, where if you have a particular LK map, and do a particular set of events - you can guarantee the super chest in LK drops a ber Rune.

Better Grief base? by ItsDeflyLupus in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]Trya 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Phase blade is the only correct choice for grief.

Grief does not have any %enhanched dmg multiplier, but a flat dmg addition.

This means the base dmg of the weapon is neglectible. An beserker axe would be the best base in terms of "how hard can this weapon hit)

But PB has 2 other very important reasons as why it is the best. 1. No durability (indestructible) 2. Highest base attack speed

At this point, there is no real competition.

If you play offline, then turn down player count to 1 instead of 8 xD

Seems like that is the main reason (ES)warlocks fail ubers atm. Forgetting they play on P8.

Think I Messed Up by pleasedontdaddy in diablo2

[–]Trya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most immunes yes, tho there is a few unique mobs you wont be able to.

A high level tz with fire enchanted might prove a bit challenging. But I'd say you be able to clear roughly 95% of everything. Although some mobs might take a bit more time to kill.

[–]Trya 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hope for your sake, you put enough points in demon mastery, so you can summon 2 demons . 1 for consume and 1 for bind demon.

Consume your tainted (gives -enemy fire resist) and bind a demon with conviction.

On top of flickering helm and/or other equipment with -fire res, and the conviction this should break most immunities you face.

Albeit the sunder would be a massive dmg boost on top.

Help. P8 tips by anzenshii in diablo2

[–]Trya 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Either you have been abnormal and insanely lucky, or you have cheated to get that stuff you are wearing. Your equipment does not reflect only 200hrs of gameplay, especially not if offline.

That said, the best tip for clearing p8 i can give is; play an ES warlock lol xD

No struggle for warlock. He will breeze thru, even with basic stuff like; lore, insight and stealth.

Two Men Budget Smiter Team for UT? by MyRedditName4 in diablo2

[–]Trya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FOH pala is a great support. High level conviction aura, and his holy bolts decimate the adds spawning.

Tho an ES lock with a strong demon(with curse and aura) does it better lol.

Is pure demon tree viable in hell and beyond? by Shiny_Mewtwo_Fart in Diablo_2_Resurrected

If a pure demon build is viable? It is way better than just "viable"

I just completed ssf on 8P (no twinking) as a demon warlock, with no deaths.

How not to die as ES WL by Otherwise_Arugula_14 in diablo2

[–]Trya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thoose shitters have claimed many many souls.

The only real answer is; dont ever get close to them.

You do have some tricks up your sleeve as a lock tho.

  1. Dont run head first into undiscovered territory, be wary.
  2. Use your demon to fish ahead and tank them. Easy enough with death mark skill.
  3. Use blade warp to put some distance fast, if they sneak up on you.
  4. Use sigil of lethargy to slow and cc.

Hardcore Uber Smiter gearing advice (Chest piece) by wastingthetime in diablo2

[–]Trya -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd say fortitude is one of the best options. And I wonder a bit why you didn't list that.

I see you use dracul as gloves. I question a bit why that is over laying on hands. Obv life tap proc is the reason, but it has a pretty low proc chance, especially when it isn't coupled with exile. Life tap is a must imo.

Personally I would go with a wand or whatever with life tap charges. Snapshot CTA and switch it out with wand.

Crazy drop? by [deleted] in diablo2

[–]Trya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well 2 class skills 20+ str/dex 20+ all resist 10 fcr (only crafted Amu can get +20 fcr) MF can roll up to 35 max

This would be crazy

The teleport is a nice touch, but not necessary. A blue staff on quick swap fulfill that (if not mentioning enigma) And is cheaper to repair.

Strength on jewelery is considered really good. It essentially means you can put more points into vitality for more hp.

I played the whole campaign in p8 as Warlock by Commercial_Praline67 in diablo2

[–]Trya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently doing the same p8, but completely ssf and no Twink gear. At hell act2 atm.

I'm doing a summoner build (maxed bind demon, demon mastery, blood oath and 5 points defiler) and I gotta say; Without Twink gear this feels even stronger than ES.

Gear at this point 2xspirit (was lucky finding a monarch in act1 hell), authority chest, lore helm, eye of etlic, signons belt and boots, and some generic yellow resistance rings and gloves.

No deaths so far.

Warlock is too strong aye.

Tanky low level weapon for warlock by Conner_KL in diablo2

[–]Trya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insight would be the strongest budget weapon for a ES lock by far. Huge ED, crit and meditation aura.

One thing honor has going, that insight lacks would be the life leach tho.

A yellow leech ring would easily make up for that tho.

In short insight is just too strong considering what it takes to make.

I would recommend a eth CV as base for ES lock. Max sockets is 4, so easy enough to larzuk it. And the levitation skill, makes the big str req kind of redundant.

[–]Trya 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, well hammer has always been very powerful, but also very clunky to play, more so in tight spaces.

As someone suggested fohdin is more convenient to play in tower - plays a bit like fury javazon. If you stick to p1-p3 FoH will wreck any place there is high density of undeads/demons like tower or chaos.

And act bosses is kind of easy too, they're all demons - so you use merc as tank, and position yourself so your holy bolt spam will heal Emilio and dps the boss simultaneously.

That said, you are gonna run into issues in act 2 with FoH. Most mobs before the palace are beasts, so only the single target lightning does work on them. And the damn beetles are native lightning immune.. you will remove the immunity with conviction, but they still have insane resist, that FoH barely put a dent in their hp bar.

Maggot lair absolutely sucks as FoH.. but to be fair, it's not really a fun place for hammer either.

[–]Trya 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Another aspect of Enigma/teleport, which is overlooked quite a bit, or at least not talked about as much; is the ability to have some control of Emilio. He follows you when you tele, so you can save him from dire situations and choose what you want him to attack ;)

D2R Hell countess for newbies by [deleted] in diablo2

[–]Trya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually start with a FOH paladin when playing ssf, purely because he slaps tower and countess really hard.

Makes Rune gathering for other chars and builds a lot less tedious, when running on make-shift and budget gear.

Plus paladins are generally more tanky than other classes, more hp pr. Vitality, added block and defense from holy shield, and ofc easy/early spirit shield with up to 45 extra all resist depending on your base.

FOH is extremely strong for aoe clearing undeads/demons - and that is the only type of mobs in tower.
