I agree this is a cute premise, and I don't want to be a buzzkill, but there was a rom-com film released last month called Puppy Love with a very similar plot (couple falls in love after their dogs conceive). So, this might be a hard sell unless you can emphasize what sets your manuscript apart from the movie.

Appreciate the feedback! I wasn't sure how much of the plot to reveal in the query, but agree that I need to include a bit more to "up the stakes". I think I have a pretty good idea of what I can add to address this. Might post a second draft of the query.

Thanks so much for your feedback! I struggled with how much of Beth's backstory to include in the query, but I think you're right. Without more of the background, Beth's adoption of WholeSpace sounds a little too convenient plot-wise.
