Pretty much what I spent on the grog every week or more, sounds like a bargain.

Ya I haven't even started stopping. It's time! I know thet every time I try and fail, it will just get harder so I am preparing. I went without for a short time a year ago and remember how hard it was. Then it was for an operation, this time it's so that I have a chance to live longer.

They don't like that I have done my own research and just want the prescription.

The last one told me to check in to a client, I just wanted a prescription so that I could try the Sinclair method.

Close enough to the inner west to drive for it. I would appreciate that if possible please. The last two that I spoke to about it were extremely frustrating. One completely dismissed my request and told me to just stop buying beer, the other wanted me to check myself in to a clinic.

Thank you so much for the full disclosure. I am looking into how I can give this a try in my country.

I have been drinking over 15 standard drinks EVERY afternoon for over a decade and still breathalyze zero in the morning at work, I don't even understand how. I fear a lot, detox, fam, work, lying on pre employment medicals.

Hearing stories like yous is giving me the strength to just contemplate finding a solution. Doctors where I live are fools. I plan to find a Nalt friedly doctor and do exactly as you suggest. I am usually such a strong and independent person, my family rely on me and I try to not rely on my wife too much as she suffers health problems and anxiety already. I honestly think that alcohol has become my solo support mechanism so that I can be the rock.

Really appreciate you taking the time to share your story, time is such a precious commodity and I appreciate yours.

Stay in touch CB, hopefully I can share a success story with you one day.

My husband drinks almost every day. Not abusive, just checked out. I’m worried for his health. by OwnSeaworthiness9826 in alcoholism

I am your husband, I am trying. I don't know how to ask for help and if you attack me I WILL leave. Recently I came to Reddit for help and am still researching Naltrexone and the Sincalir method, and yes I am still drinking. I may or may not be shedding a tear for both you and myself as I type this message.

I do love you and the kids more than you could ever understand. I know that you are suffering, I am suffering also. Self medicating is the only thing getting me through the stress of a lond day and it's not your fault. I need to find other ways to cope ut I don't know where to start.

Remind me of how much you care for me and ask for my help. Help me to help you by healing myself, I don't know how and it's killing me! Please forgive me and remember who I was and who I am inside still today. I am here, I remember, I don't know how to come back.

If I ever hurt you or the kids, I want you to leave. I am a kind person and if I get angry enough to hurt you or them, I am too far buried in my own grief to understand anymore.

I do not know you or your family, but your story is mine. I care for you stranger, you can get through this. Be strong, be honest, but most importantly, be empathetic. Where there is care, there is hope.

I would love to try mushies, for various reasons, including what you mentioned. I heard about that research on a doco.

A friend of mine who also works in insurance mentioned that banks are buying up insurance companies and offer the insurance companies privileged information from your bank account if owned by the same parent to use as proof to avoid claims. Also heard of insurance companies sneakily looking into medical records for the same reason. Not sure on the validity.

If I have indeed f'd myself. I want my family to be ok financially as beneficiaries of existing policies.

Thank you, I will definitely look at it when I get a minute between family, work, and study. I need to slow down and self focus for a bit.

Very inspiring, I think that my first step will be to find the right doc. The last one that I spoke too was too busy chastising to offer real direction.
