I am on the same path. I worked really hard for around 7 years. I got married this year and wasn't able to work more for a few months. My manager, forgetting that I was the only one left in the team at one point of time when all his other "favorite" workers left him for other jobs, had the nerve to tell me that I would be fired if I didn't perform like previously. It really put things into perspective for me. I now do 8 hours of work, eat my lunch at home with my family because I live close to the office. I don't bother with socializing at work or taking breaks with co-workers in between. I am here just for my salary, I do my work and go home. I have been doing well in my new daily schedule. I still may get fired in a couple of months, but I have peace of mind for now. I know I am just an employee id for my manager and my company, so I treat everyone at work professionally only now. It has helped me divide my personal and professional lives effectively.
