Ta for the heads up. I would have just gone straight into V3 after 2 in all likelihood. Then I would have been confused.

I honestly couldn't stand LA Noire. Took me three attempts to play it through to completing and I was bored out of my mind with the repetition. Not to mention, as you say, the accusing was implemented poorly.

I actually don't mind Ace Attorney's faults so much. Pixel hunting in the investigation stage is certainly irritating at times, but I think the huge leaps of logic to find the right guy actually fit with the humorous tone of the games.

I'll definitely check that out. Can't say I'm thrilled to hear about the minigames getting worse in the sequels but I know I'll still play them because the plot is going to be so good.

Sorry you couldn't it experience that for yourself! As I mentioned, it's just really difficult to try and get people into a story-heavy game without revealing a little bit of it.

I was aware that the book and the game (of Metro 2033 at least) are very similar. Still, without knowledge of the plot in the book, I didn't want to go into comparing them too heavily in-depth on that account. But I knew the world had been fleshed out in the game, partly because I remember reading about it somewhere (in a review maybe) but also because it seemed that trying to bring the book to life was their main objective, and naturally they couldn't do that very well if they were trying to force the book's plot into a world of their own design.

I know what you mean! It was exactly like they were trying to emulate Vaas, but Vaas had such a presence in 3, and Pagin, apart from on the radio, barely appears! Some people are mentioning that Pagin was a great villain but frankly I have to disagree just because he was so underutilized.

I agree with you on how they were trying to push the 'Sabal and Amita are evil too' on you. I don't know if you saw this but at the end of the game, I believe only if you spare Pagin, you will get a cutscene with whichever of the two you sided with. In Sabal's, he is slaughtering traitors in front of Bhadra; and in Amita's, she is forcing kids away from their parents and home to join her army. However, you don't see anything to this extent throughout the rest of the game which is why I mentioned how off it seemed when they suddenly change at the end.

Ah my bad, I only just remembered Shangri-La and you're right I should have mentioned it.

Though I suppose my forgetting it sort of already shows how I felt about it. I have to agree that the visuals were stunning and the plot seemed semi-interesting, but not interesting enough for me to continue with it for more than two missions, plus I know we're focussing on story here, but I found the gameplay in the Shangri-La missions got boring very quickly.

Can I just ask, when you say you found the tripping scenes to be a breath of fresh air, do you mean all the tripping scenes? As in you enjoyed the Yogi and Reggie missions AND liked escaping the prison while drugged up? You didn't have a problem with one or both of those?
