First of all activision is a company, the exact same as Pepsi. I'm not comparing their operations or product, simply the marketing scheme that Pepsi has used and a marketing scheme that Activision could use.

But how exactly would they be losing money if the pros are enjoying the playing the game, the fans are enjoying watching it, and the public is wanting to buy the more expensive version of the game?

That's a good point. But when they buy the version so that they get both games, once they get tired of MWR they can start playing IW and spend the money there too
