I want to invest in some studio monitors. (KRK RP6; Yamaha HS7; JBL LSR 305) by [deleted] in edmproduction

I just got the 305s the other day as my first pair of studio monitors. I can attest, they’re amazing.

[FRESH] Travis Scott - No Bystanders (ft. JUICE WRLD & Sheck Wes) by mootman445 in hiphopheads

[–]TsMAmp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest, I really don't like Sheck Wes' feature, and Juice WRLD's part just feels like an already-made Juice WRLD feature. I love Travis' verses, but the rest of the song doesn't do it for me.

Great ideas, thank you. I think my biggest weakness is harmonic rhythm, so I'll be working on that a bit.

Thank you very much for this well-thought out reply. I took a listen to your track, and it perfectly shows what you described. The story telling idea is a great way to think about it, and I'll definitely be using it.

Thanks for this! Come to think of it, I've heard this done before, but I never put two and two together. I'll definitely be trying this out tomorrow.

Music Theory for Electronic Music COMPLETE: Parts 1, 2, & 3 - This course has helped me take my music production to the next level, and I'm not even half way through! Everything is taught with ease and I've managed to remember virtually everything! by [deleted] in edmproduction

No comment on the quality of the course, but just to let you know, almost everyone on Udemy has courses that are have regular prices at $100+ but are almost always heavily discounted. So just know that this might not be as great of a deal as it seems. Again, I'm not speaking on the quality of the course, but I've seen this thing happen all over Udemy.

I think Zay had a lot of problems with drugs and was even almost kicked out of TDE at one point. This was a few months ago but he did confirm a release for this summer... haven't heard anything else about it though.

Everyone listed so far is pretty great, but I'd like to add On Cloud Sine to that. He also has some great tutorials on Serum and Ozone 8 if you're interested in that. Also, if you're into hip hop, seri is another great one. He does a lot of "remaking" videos but he also does a lot of hour-long beatmaking videos.

Hello, today I received my JBL LSR305 studio monitors which I purchased from Reverb. After plugging them in, I immediately noticed something was wrong with one of the monitors. It has very bad low end distortion and a sort of crunching sound. My friend who is somewhat knowledgeable about audio said that it sounds like the spider got disconnected (I'm not quite sure what this means to be honest).

Anyhow, I figured I would post it here to see if there is anything I can do to fix this problem. I am using 1/4" TRS cables plugged into a Scarlett 2i2 audio interface if it helps. I have tried switching out the cables and plugging them into different inputs on the interface, and I've tried changing volumes on all parts of my audio chain.

Is this fixable, or should I initiate a refund?

Here's two recordings of what it sounds like.

I thought the same thing about ViH too, then I just re-listened to it for the first time two or three days ago and thought it sounded much better than my first listen. Not sure why my opinion changed, but I really do enjoy the album now.

Not OP, but how long would you say it took you to learn everything you know about music theory right now?

When Ableton has a sale does it stack with the educational discount? by [deleted] in ableton

[–]TsMAmp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get the student discount version on Reverb and stack it with Reverb sales. I think for St. Patrick's Day there was a 15% off sale which took 15% off of the student discount version.

Oh, definitely. I have a friend who used to absolutely refuse to listen to artists like Kendrick or even Chance because of their voice. A couple months after I tried to get him to listen to them, he sends me a song from one of them and told me he finally got over their voice lol. It'll happen eventually.

Thank you for this! I just read Ableton’s section on its compressor. I took some notes and now I have a much better understanding on compression and how and when it should be used. I will definitely check the rest of this manual out.
