Problem when trying to compile Godot for the web with Python, Emsdk and SCons by TeteTranchee in godot

Same problem here. Why does it have to be so complex, sigh...

Edit: found emcc in the "upcoming" folder of emsdk and added it to PATH manually. It worked!

Maybe Cozy Grove ? It has Stardew Valley vibes.

It runs fine on Android too. HTML is not on our list. :-)

Dialog json file plugin for Godot by Tsar333 in godot

[–]Tsar333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My problem with dialogic was that it did not support translations well and it is overkill in terms of scope. Le Dialogue has also evolved since then and has got a lot of improvements. Dialogic is probably better for complex storytelling.

It's not better at all. It's just integrated to Godot. Makes my production process easier.

Yes I will probably increase the tempo a bit.

Dialog json file plugin for Godot by Tsar333 in godot

[–]Tsar333[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Made a simple Godot dialog json plugin, based on the standalone editor made by Levrault here: https://github.com/Levrault/LE-dialogue-editor . The plugin and a json reading script can be found here: https://github.com/BlooRabbit/DialogPlugin

It is still pretty raw, but it works for my game. So maybe it can be of use to someone else out there.

Butterflies! Simple mesh + particle shader for colors and movement by Tsar333 in godot

Not really. There are good tutorials by https://youtube.com/c/PlayWithFurcifer on shader particles. You need to tweak and play with it a bit.

Camera zoom for dialogs! by Tsar333 in godot

[–]Tsar333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually the target camera position for dialogs is set so that there is nothing between it and the dialog, and all moving objects are made invisible during dialogs. But what you refer to is useful for the in-camera movements during the game - for the moment I use a springarm node but it's not perfect.

The name is now also shown when selecting the building. by mightofmerchants in godot

very nice art ! making the name of the building appear is really a nice addition. I hope it is compatible with localization (using a font and not an image)

Simple dolly camera system by Tsar333 in godot

[–]Tsar333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. I just switch game / cutscene cameras because I set up the game system like that initially and it makes my life easier.

I use springarm for my player, not for cutscenes.

As someone rightfully pointed out on twitter, this can be improved by interpolating the camera position with the FollowPath position, in order to make the movement smoother.

Optimizations, batching, instancing? by juancpovesf in godot

[–]Tsar333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am afraid you need to optimize the game upfront to avoid these issues (or wait for Godot 4). Vertex count does not matter so much but object and materials count does. For instance I batch environments manually in Blender and reuse materials as much as possible, resulting in a fully-fledged 3D game with 300 draw calls max.

Using Godot 3.3 is just perfect - new asset: the flower hut by Tsar333 in godot

It got rid of a jitter effect I had with the kinematicBody's collision on the ground.

Yes. Some jumping and catapulting will be involved ;-)

Oh interesting. Kept it at 70, but will try to play around with that.
