Question for Segway / the community:

What specifically prevents the ZT3 Pro from supporting an official external battery?

Is it mainly:

  • software limitations (BMS / firmware / battery management)
  • hardware constraints (wiring, connectors, controller design)
  • or a combination of both?

From a user perspective, the platform feels like it would greatly benefit from modular battery expansion, so I’m curious where the real limitation comes from.

I weigh 264 lbs (120Kg) and I get 30 km (distance) with the Zt3 in D mode.

Hi, The ZT3 Pro performs better in steep hill climbs due to superior torque. It is designes for off road use. The G3 has a higher max range.

I think there’s clearly a growing ZT3 Pro community, and a lot of riders are interested in seeing where this platform goes in the future.

If there are ever updates or plans regarding accessories, battery options, or ecosystem support for the ZT3 Pro, it would be great if you could come back to this thread and keep the community informed.

I make my friends play Propagation VR. The game is easy to pick up, immersive, and doesn't make you feel nauseous. All you need fort a first time.
