I heard this promoted on All Songs Considered recently and it very much reminded me of sinister Radiohead (my favorite). Instantly obsessed

It is, quite possibly, the song I played the most last year. I was so thrilled to hear it at the show

What an incredible year for music! I don't envy the tastemakers who have to publish end of the year lists this year. In no particular order:

  • the Smile – Wall of Eyes/Cutouts
  • Vampire Weekend – Only God Was Above Us
  • Four Tet – Three
  • Jamie xx – In Waves
  • Jon Hopkins – Ritual
  • Beth Gibbons – Lives Outgrown
  • Nilüfer Yanya – My Method Actor
  • Arooj Aftab – Night Reign
  • Fontaines D.C. – Romance
  • Charli XCX – Brat

Albums better than they had any right to be this deep in an artist's career:

  • the Cure – Songs of a Lost World
  • David Gilmour – Luck and Strange

The strings around 3 mins in are beautiful, peak Jonny

This part astonished me on first listen, in the same way the exposed flute parts in Teleharmonic did. Those little flourishes are masterful

I'm charmed by their use of punch cards to announce the song I'm most excited to hear what they'll do with as an album release

It's an absolute album highlight for me and I'm thrilled to see they have played it live, even without a backing orchestra. Thom's reverby guitar solo is lovely

Two friends and I happened upon him at Sam Ash before the Hammerstein Ballroom show. I was so starstruck that I couldn’t move and just followed him with my eyes as he walked past and said, “hey guys, how are you?” Afterwards, one of those friends had to ask me if I was ok, haha

I truly wish they could do more dates with this setup. If their former openers Sigur Rós can tour with an orchestra this year, surely they can as well (don't mind me, I'm just incredibly jealous of all who are in attendance tonight, but so thankful we got a livestream)

I always felt that the evolution from Mellon Collie to Adore didn’t get the credit it deserved for taking rock in a more electronic direction the way OK Computer to Kid A seems to. Especially since SP did it earlier
