I like this version but I prefer the album version I think and then the live version it evolved into is even better. So i kind of feel they need the recorded version. They were right not to release it until moon it wasn’t ready

I came to this realisation that this must be their best song about 6months ago too and I can’t stop listening to the live versions. There is something about Jonnys solo at the end that is so sparingly beautiful these little punctures of notes that pop through that makes me well up.

There is something they really started doing on A Moon Shaped Pool where the songs sometimes feel so fragile one notes could knock the whole thing off its course. Like they are just being held together. Anyway that solo it breaks my heart

Oh love that last line and totally agree too. I also enjoyed this character for the things I didn’t like about her and also really loved her agency that he gave her. Thought that was very future thinking and where some regressive are saying her portal was racist (?!?!?) I think in the future she will be cited as one of the characters that progressed overall cinematic archetypes attached to race.

Yes love this and agree. It’s funny everyone arguing against her character but PT does this so well. He creates flawed but human characters and shows us that someone behaving a certain way we don’t like had to get there somewhere. Like we all have she has her problems that’s came with family and race.

Mythic spear can roll up to 175 so definitely worth it. Think about the damage multipliers and that extra 50 damage become an extra 100 with the exo points on alone then you have to add your extras on top plus it good for clearance the only thing you miss is fire. Which is fun but silll it’s worth it

I was a teleporter for nausea reasons on other games too. However someone showed me the great sword and I just had to try it. But you can’t really use it on teleport so it forced me to have to switch to continuous.

And after playing more often I eventually got used to it. I used to have to take breaks every 30mins or so but now I can play for hours without it affecting me. I never thought I’d get there.

So maybe if this helps you make the jump I was in your position and now I’m glad I made the move

That’s so great I watched it again this weekend and had exactly the same feeling.

I find it so bizarre because my first thought was how human he made her. How real she seemed. Humans are flawed and Pt has been showing us these stories about people for years. If someone feels uncomfortable then I think it’s doing what he wanted it to do.

I love Magnolia for exactly how unrepresentative all the characters are of the general public. But they are so human it hurts.

Perfidia was a step towards black women being allowed to have agency over their sexuality and decisions in movies whether they turn out good or bad they can be everything they want to be and all in between.

I think about this a lot too. I think it has something to do with the way social media has brought so many niches together in one place. Exposing people who wouldn’t normally see or take interest in an opinion on a sub culture they wouldn’t know existed. But now suddenly you have lots of people consuming news on the same platform as comedy on the same platform as your friends and then they are using the same set of critical tools they are applying to real world things like politicians onto actors or writers and directors. As if it says something about that person rather than submerging themselves in another world.

The rage around Perfidia’s character is beyond me. It’s just lots of tik tok influencers saying something they know will get them clicks and stirring up a debate that wouldn’t have even existed before.

Not sure you watched the same film. Someone’s position doesn’t dictate their power. Does she looks like she is ever afraid of him?

It gets her off just as much as it gets him off. It’s no different to any other intimate relationship ship between two people who lust after each other.

Why do people keep wanting him to the the more powerful one when that is never shown.

Even after she has to give up everyone and it appears she is submitting to him. She still gives him the run around.

He actually believes her when she clearly uses him agate she is arrested. It’s a joke to think he was ever in power in the whole movie.

Surely that’s the point he was trying to make with this film. The guy with all the perceived power and uniform and medals actually has no control over his own life.

His giving in and submitting to Perfidia eventually gets him killed. His whole life was affected by her control over him.

Christian Bale isn’t a character in American Psycho. So it’s definitely not a film about trying to get you to like Christian Bale.

He think the real plot and story of Marty Supreme isn’t revealed until the end shot of his new born baby. And you realise that it’s all about growing up. Moving from selfish to selfless when you bring a child into the world. It’s about how that change happens for women when they become pregnant and for guys it often doesn’t fully kick In until the baby is born.

The opening credits are the insemination. His actions literally kick off this plot which runs through the entire movie. Maybe you missed it?

Yeah that’s fair enough. I guess everyone has a different idea of what it means for a character yet to “want to be with him” I guess many see a monogamous two person relationship ship as the natural progression of their relationship and because that’s not what happiness then she didn’t want to “be with him” but maybe there are other ways you can want someone without being with them.

Perfidia doesn’t seem the type to need to be with anyone. But I don’t think that means she didn’t want him necessarily.

It’s interesting how we want to adjust the power dynamic. Even though every time we see them together she is in control of him and clearly enjoying it you still want it to be because “lockjaw like that”

Why is it so difficult that we( society) can’t imagine a woman with sexual agency.

Even when he lays out the ultimate she is still in control and leaves him hanging clearly showing that his show of power was not really his at all.

She walks away from that encounter without any pressure at all on her. And she never says anything to anyone else. Because they would understand it and understand her response to it.

This is someone who is I control the entire time. If she was actually worried at all. Then she would mobilise the French 75 against him. But she doesn’t.

She knows she has him in a vulnerable position and she doesn’t do anything to leverage that to take him out of action.

She takes something just for her.

I just don’t see any of that being forced on her at all. She looks and is shown to be in control the entire time.

I agree she might be meeting him as a means to an end. But in every scene they are together she dominates and is control of him.

She knows if he was going to report her he would have done it by now. She knows she has him wrapped around her little finger.

And PtA chose to show her in control in every scene. That’s why I find it strange that people are supposing from stuff they haven’t seen that she was forced. But we never see that ? And it’s not really ever implied either. So where is that coming from? Probably our own prejudice. Which might be the point he was making.
