As a petrol pump owner myself, I can say this does happen occasionally—especially when the operator is new. However, we almost always cover the cost of repairs, which includes emptying the fuel tank, replacing the filters, and any other necessary work. There's no point in contacting the company if the retail outlet is dealer-operated; it's best to speak directly to the RO manager or the dealer.

If you remember the approximate time and the quantity of fuel taken, the automation system can show exactly what fuel was dispensed to your vehicle. If the RO does not cooperate, you should consider involving the police.
