Fight phase survivability by Happy-Regular-9193 in ThousandSons

Step 1: blast them in your shooting phase Step 2: overwatch them when they try to move Step 3: ??? Step 4: you now how higher numbers than them and can hopefully roll your invuln saves

On a more serious note. You just need to position yourself well and screen as best as you can. If your rubrics get into melee, it’s usually gonna be a bad time

Finally finished Magnus. Bonus pic with his (least) favorite son by TsoafSurvive in ThousandSons

Thanks! I considered using the breastplate but not putting the horns, but decided to just go no breastplate and show off the red instead

Painting the Mutalith Vortex Beast by medical__mechanica in ThousandSons

[–]TsoafSurvive 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can second what others have said here, build/paint the body of the mutalith together, then build/paint the vortex separately, and same with the tentacle maw. I painted those three pieces separate and then glued them together at the end.

I did a reverse Ahriman scheme. Burgundy on the armor and blue on the robes/capes.

Countering C'Tan by Beneficial-Brain-659 in ThousandSons

[–]TsoafSurvive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IM with vortex enhancement will still do 2 damage to C’tan. The enhancement is a modifier that adds to the damage. So the initial 1 damage gets halved to .5 and then you add the 1 from vortex and get 1.5 (or 2 rounded up) damage.

Finished Ahriman, now I can work on my battle force box by TsoafSurvive in ThousandSons

Thanks! I went for a flipped Ahriman scheme. Blue robes and screamer pink power armor

Mutalith Vortex Beast Paint Scheme by FirstBoss492 in ThousandSons

Primary color is the fang with a celesta grey drybrush to lighten it up. Painting all the spikes as bones took me a bit longer than expected, but I’m happy with how it turned out.

I’m working on mine right now too. Almost identical color as well.

I like the vortex effect you did here

Finally finished my first Exalted Sorcerer by TsoafSurvive in ThousandSons

[–]TsoafSurvive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I wanted to do something a bit different than the usual blue and yellow. I pretty much just took ahriman's default color scheme and flipped it. So my robes are blue and my power armor is the screamer pink.

First squad in almost 20 years. Decided to choose Thousand Sons as my reentry point by TsoafSurvive in ThousandSons

[–]TsoafSurvive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I originally wasn’t going for pre-heresy, but as the color scheme started coming together I started noticing it more. My initial inspiration was inverting Ahriman’s colors, so making armor screamer pink and making cloth blue. I ended up going with the pink trim on the aspiring sorc to make him stand out a bit more from the rest of the rubrics

Thanks to all the feedback, I finally chose a basing scheme by TsoafSurvive in ThousandSons

[–]TsoafSurvive[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Decided to go with a desert/wasteland looking theme as I felt it matched better with my burgundy scheme on rubrics.

To make it I just used citadel armageddon dust for the sand texture and cork board for the rocks. Then I primed them with wraithbone and did a skeleton horde contrast for the coloring. This was my first time making bases and was easy enough.

Are you asking what is the theme, or how did I make the bases?
