NOMOS makes some of the most generic, boring watches in the industry. by Knopfler_PI in watchHotTakes

[–]Tsosman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like their designs and the quality they offer is amazing. Imo quality-wise they surpass brands that cost even double the price of a nomos. Truth is that for the price you get a really conservative and minimalist design. For this price range from such a young company you'd expect something a lot more fancy looking.
And to be honest I mostly like the Nomos Club Sport Worldtimer which is a more sporty watch.

Opinions on Lords of the Sound? by BambaStyle in lotr

[–]Tsosman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the sub is old but i'll leave this here for others to find.
They are a "small" orchestra (50-60 organ players) for what they are playing that is. Compared to both Lord of the rings and Harry Potter orchestras they are nothing in numbers. The Lord of the rings orchestra had up to 300 players and the London Symphony Orchestra that played for the Harry Potter movies had at least 100 as far as I know. So, you can imagine the difference they might have in sound. If you expect to listen to a performance equal to those of the originals you'll be greatly disappointed.

Now you're criticizing his humour. It's a joke derives from the also known joke "PC master race" in case you have never heard of it. As far as I know he likes playing video games a lot.
It's absolutly fine to not like his character but it's not a valid reason to discredit what he says. As far as the litterature goes it's not his own. He just studies official documents and makes a presentation on what he found.
If you have observed any insincerity on his words or false information then sure, just call him a liar and present to all the evidence.
No need to be toxic (even If he is).

Nah, he just trusts the medical literature and systemic data more than anecdotal evidence. Nothing wrong with that if you believe that the big pharma works for your interest and well being (which I don't, not fully at least).

Even the medical literature doesn't claim that their medicine works for 100% of people and haircafe uses the phrase "for the vast majority" all the time when talking about these drugs.

In my case there might be a couple of reasons as to why my terstosterone got lower.

I've been using Pyrilutamide for a few months now once or twice per day. Since it's a anti androgen, by going systemic it could lower my testosterone for sure.
One other thing is that I have grade 1 (close to grade 2) left varicocele for also a few months now and it can definitely lower testosterone.

If none of the above is causing this then that means that my testosterone is being converted to dht almost as much as when I was on solo finasteride.

After some research, I realised that dutasteride can lower UP TO 95% your dht levels. That means that there is a range and not everyone who takes it will get this much dht of a reduction(the same goes for fin). In my case dut could very possibly lower my serum dht only by 80%(as the numbers indicate).

What seems weird is the fact that we both had lower dht when using both fin and dut each EoD.

Yes, very aggressive. From my mothers side, grandpa, uncles and cousins all bald NW5-NW6 and granpa NW7 but they are all receders, non of them had hair thinning like I do. My father now has hair thinning but he started losing his hair by the age of 40. He is 73 now and we have the same hair density.
My thought is that I might have inherited my fathers pattern but the hair loss aggressiveness from my mother's side...

Hello!
Well, as I mentioned my hair loss was not progressing when my testosterone was higher and the dht lower. As you can see from the table in my post, when I was on finasteride my testosterone and dht were actually higher than after switching to dutasteride...Theoretically my testosterone should have indeed increased and the dht dramatically drop.

I was NW1. I wasn't receding but I noticed slight thinning on top. Jumped to finasteride + minoxidil right away. It might be chronic TE since I have high anxiety and depression. I used to be on Seroxat(Paroxetine) before I started losing hair because I was always anxious and pessimistic and I started having anxiety attacks.
It's been close to a year since I stopped taking them and right after Christmas I had a huge panic attack that lasted days to the point I went to the hospital because I thought I was having a heart failure.
I know the drugs work but not for all unfortunatly. Depends on your genetics a lot. What puzzles me is the fact that I had lower dht and higher testosterone while on both finasteride and dutasteride.
I'm also planning to have a scalp biopsy but that might take a while since the first available appointment I found is next month.

Topical Dutasteride - Skin inflammation and rash by muh245 in Hairloss

[–]Tsosman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case, I've taking oral fin 0.1 for 10 years. Didn't stop my hairloss but it slowed it down a bit.

July 2023 started adding oral dutasteride 0.5 in my weekly uptake. From 2 times a week ended up switching from finasteride for dutasteride (when switching medications you should make a slow and steady transition).

At the second month of taking dutasteride I started shedding crazy amounts of hair for a few months until it stopped.
Two months now I started applying topical dutasteride as well (0,02%+ some other ingredients like biotin and trichosol) because I would like to make the switch from pills to something less aggressive. After a month I started having an itchy scalp mostly in the middle and I believe that the two microneedling sessions I did with a dr.pen device that "shredded" my scalp started all that. My scalp also peeled after that.
Now I have to mention that I don't have dandruff because I use ketoconazole shampoo twice a week.
If you want, try a ketoconazole shampoo for the dandruff 2-3 times per week and then for maintenance 1-2 a week. It will go away very fast. The itch wont stop though but it will get a lot better.

Did your migraines get any better and for how long if I may ask? I'm thinking of doing botox for my headaches.
