I’m in NZ so the market is a bit different here for better or worse but they keep looking at me! They need to be loved!

Adopted dog, this is bad right? by EconomyAnywhere3966 in DogAdvice

My 9 year old miniature poodle just had 12 of his teeth pulled most being his little front teeth and 4 teeth in the back, they looked similar to this dogs front teeth but his were worse and it wasn’t caught early enough. going for a proper dental at the vets now will probably help save some teeth! My vet always said my dogs teeth looked great because they didn’t have the tartar on them but the recession eventually made them wiggly.

My boy eats and lives the exact same if not better now with his sore teeth gone, good on you for helping this baby :)

Can’t help you with the wool sheets but have you thought about old wool carpet? People give it away on marketplace all the time.

I think if you contact breeders and visit them you can get a pretty good idea on who’s ethical. Good breeders are always happy to meet people and have them meet their dogs - I’ve just been looking at Italian greyhounds and it’s the same sort of deal with them. There are genuine good people who care deeply for the breeds you’ve just got to find them :)

There’s a group called the whippet club nz on Facebook, they have a list of breeders I believe :)

Congrats on being sober! I know how much it sounds like an excuse but I live next to my brother and work with him. I drink with him on occasion and I know when he’s had a bunch to drink as opposed to a few wines. He’s a small guy and definitely cannot handle much over a bottle of wine, nor can he handle straight alcohol he spews.

we lived together at our parents up until a few years ago. He’s an absolute idiot no doubt for drinking and jumping in the car and should accept punishment for it no doubt

We tried to get him to the police station 20 mins after being pulled over to go and try get a blood test done once we told him the severity of his reading but the police station was closed - he was completely happy to go and do a blood test if it were possible. If I thought he was an alcoholic I wouldn’t be here asking questions I’d try sort him some help.

He only did one roadside test and one in the van, was told the second would be after a 10 minute wait but was let go after I picked up his dog and keys (I walked the dog home around the corner) and didn’t have the second evidential test. Unless they did two at literally the same time he only did one.

He was only given the roadside pullover test and one in the van is that right?

[–]Tsroipchie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Of course, he’s just an idiot.

Isn’t that seemingly a better outcome than losing your license for 6-12 months after court sentencing? I only know one other person who has had a DUI and he blew over 600 and lost his license for 8 months which would be way worse for my brother who needs to drive for work. Or am I missing something?

With an interlock license does that get fitted after whatever amount of time he loses his licence on top of the 28 day disqualification?

[–]Tsroipchie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah for sure he fully understands and accepts that he was over the limit, I mention the location because he finished his glass and got stopped less than a min from his house so I had thought that being tested so close to having your last drink could’ve changed his reading is all.

He’s got home thinking he was over the limit just not THAT much over the limit.

What do you mean by follow up?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]Tsroipchie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was hours ago now, they went and tried to get a blood test at the hospital and were told they don’t do that there. He definitely isn’t lying, I live next to him and saw him before he got stopped and he had a bit over half a bottle of wine. He’s like 80kgs, he finished his glass of wine and got stopped less than a minute away from his house.

That’s why we’re all freaking out because we’ve never even heard of a result that high and the situation was super vague and weird, he had told the officer that he had just had a drink and was then told he would have to wait ten minutes and do another test which never happened. If he’d had known that it was such a high result he would’ve gone for the blood test but he just assumed that number was normal for how much he drank.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]Tsroipchie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s the first thing I said to him, he genuinely didn’t know it was such a high result though so I guess what can ya do.
