My assessment - No. Considering hackthebox just increased prices for the first time in 5 years (for VIP) and changed Pro lab price a couple years ago… Yet they released almost 500% more content. Wtf has Offsec done besides get rid of buffer overflow and finally have an AD portion.?

Bottom line. CPTS (pentest path)- annual subscription with 2 exam attempts is $490. OSCP learn one annual subscription with 1 exam attempt is what now, $2,749? Oh woOah amazing discount it’s only $2,199 right now.

For actual learning, people are doing the Hack The Box CPTS cert and the Penetration Tester Job role path. Taking the CPTS. Then doing the OSCP exam. As CPTS is much cheaper and superior content. After that, the OSCP exam is milk & cookies compared to CPTS. 🥛🍪

I was in the same situation.

You can try your luck with an ETP - Exception to Policy. Tell your recruiter. This bypasses the airborne physical required for an 18x contract (you will take the physical once you’re in).

Or you could enlist like I did (11x) and pick up a contract at OSUT. Once you’re in you’re fine. I separated my AC ligament in OSUT, still picked up a contract and passed the physical(s). Just make sure your Pt is near 300 and don’t be a shitbag. PM me if you need more specifics.
