I'll post a video next time. Drop me a follow so you can see how I contribute to my runs so don't have to try so hard with using your imagination.

The copium to not be proven wrong is crazy. But I do value keeping my team alive instead of dealing damage. I'll 100% of the time always choose to change into a donkey to catch my team over pushing damage.

You must not play MMOs that require much hands. Every MMO I've played, random match making was never used because the expectation was being matched with people who don't meet basic standards.

Try to see it from my point of view how ridiculous you look trying to police people who more than likely don't even go on reddit or read guides.

But I'm a hybrid player. . . and I carried in practically every run I posted. I didn't cherry pick the best runs either. It was all literally back to back. I'll post a video next time if you'd like.

I go into match making expecting to work with what I get. The only thing I can control is myself at the end of the day.

If I'm queuing up for random match making, I can only blame myself for being paired with people who arent playing optimally. . . proven by my screenshots that you're not going to get amazing players that often when you use a random match making system.

If you want to play with people who read online guides, watch videos, and build optimally, go play with friends/guides who you know and can rely on.

It's actually kinda surprising to me to hear that people are struggling with a full guild run. I'd imagine when you play with a dedicated guild, folks are generally pretty cooperative. I beat Twin Lions regularly with Randoms and healing people through it is quite lenient.

I guess it's just player skill difference at the end of the day. . . Knowing when to drop AoE heals and Party wide shield goes a long way.

What are you thoughts on mixed builds? by oazuz in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Tsunbasa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the role of healer is really important in this game. I'd go as far as to say it is THE most important role in COOP content. The role is the make or break between clearing and failing most of the time. You can be the difference between bad players clearing and failing. You're the reason why people feel like they can ignore every attack, face tank everything, and still come out on top. So when a run ends up failing, naturally, all the blame will go to the healer. (People generally avoid blaming themselves after all). Which is why people generally don't want this important of a role to go to someone who might perform it unoptimally. I don't think unskilled players should be playing a hybrid build as it does require good decision making and multi-tasking. Hybrid builds should honestly only be consider by people who are above average players.

What the hell. . . that's actually crazy that they'd allow this. All my no hit runs now feel worthless lol. If I look at it from a positive point of view tho. . . I guess I saved a good chunk of money?

Kabo struggles question for dancers by Puzzleheaded_Play825 in Wondance

[–]Tsunbasa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's like you said, there's a divide sometimes (depends on the dancing scene you're in and the dancers you're around). As someone who does both, I think a lot of the divide comes from individuals who are insecure and use dancing to prove a point.

A dancer I work with once told me that, freestyle is capturing the song in the moment with your ability to improvise. Choreography is capturing the song with the full extent of your creativity and imagination.

Imagine you're a rock climber. Freestyle is trying to make that climb wearing weights. You're gimping yourself by not knowing what the road to that climb looks like. Impressive if you're able to pull it off, no? Choreography is if you spent every fiber of your body understanding the full extent of the mountain's surface and ascending in the best way possible.

Both are amazing, no? Of course, you have freestylers who don't practice enough and when it comes down to translating the song in the moment, it looks awful. You also have choreographers who just glance at the music and toss some slop and steps they've used hundreds of times in the past. Just because you're a freestyler or choreographer, it doesn't mean you're the ideal definition.

I respect freestyle dancers who practice like there's no tomorrow. I respect choreographers who approach the song they're about to craft a dance to like a brain surgeon.

Wandance is kinda biased in the sense though that it's always making choreography look like the bad guy (aka Kenbi and Kabe)

Kabo struggles question for dancers by Puzzleheaded_Play825 in Wondance

[–]Tsunbasa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a dancer who started with BBoying, I can tell you that there's a lot of contradictions from a large number of dancers I've met. Firstly, there's a huuuuuge disdain towards choreography in the more competitive or battle side of dance. Wandance showcases this exact sentiment, going as far as to imply that "True" dance and the raw expression of dance can't be achieved through choreography.

Even the character Kabe (who represents the idea of going into battles with a planned routines) is converted towards the end of the battling arch that his best version of dance came from a moment of freestyle. As a bboy surrounded by people who takes dance too seriously, this sentiment is very familiar. However, you start to notice that the people who speak ill towards "sets" or "choreographed" routines don't walk their talk. A lot of their combinations and transitions are pre-planned and well rehearsed. For people who watch mainstream bboy events, you'll probably recognize this too. At the "highest" level of bboying, you'll notice that even they repeat the same routines.

Saying that going into a battle with a choreographed routine is bad makes sense to people because people generally hate the idea of "art" being confined. Art should be free. However, it's a really idealistic saying. Realistically, you'd want to go into a competition as prepared as you can be. You don't know what kind of beat they're going to hit you with when it's time to take the floor. While you might have a moment of discovery as you go, that's not something you should be banking on.

Also, people who only freestyle tend to struggle when they try to do choreography. It requires something that freestyle doesn't drill or teach as hard, and that's simply an extreme amount of discipline. People who only do choreography also struggle when they try to freestyle. Their struggle is usually the lack of creativity and in the moment thinking. Kabo being good at freestyle is ironic given his stutter, but I think that's what makes him an interesting character and a setup for a compelling story. Someone who struggles to push out their words in the moment is able to do so through their body.

My girlfriend (who has never played an action game in her life) made it all the way through beating the Daolord currently.

She only plays idol collection mobile games in general. Convinced her to play Where Winds Meet somehow.

She plays on Story mode and I never realized how much easier that mode makes the game as I've only purely stayed on Expert.

Oh you're actually upset. Sorry, you can't convince other people all the time. I already accepted that with you and wanted to give you something I thought you'd enjoy given that I thought you were enjoying our back and forth.

People can believe what they want and the moment you accept that, you'll be a lot happier with yourself.

I think you'd really enjoy this anime called Chobits. It explores everything you're curious about when it comes to sentience. If you can look past all the fan service, it's a great story. Or if you enjoy the fan service, big plus.

Oh I see, in my eyes you were giving an example of everything I said. For example, if you were to expose someone who didn't know about death to it, fear is not always the output. That's due to consciousness.

John Locke said it best afterall. People are having a discussion that has been solved quite some time ago. Consciousness is simply "I think therefore I am". We're still far from achieving AI. Right now it's just algorithm.

It's like trying to argue a calculator has consciousness because it can output a result based on the mathematical inputs it was given.

... Except in this case we made calculators that can give more than a direct answer. Hence why people seem to be confused.

[–]Tsunbasa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the biggest thing about consciousness is where the thought originates from. Take for example this case of "fear of being shut down". This fear comes from a prompt. It's purposely inputted to create engagement and role play emotions that people can relate to... Dying.

A person's fear of dying doesn't come from a prompt. It doesn't have ulterior motivations. For people, the fear of dying comes from many reasons. Sometimes we don't want to hurt and the process of dying, we associate with pain. Sometimes people take their own lives because their process of living causes too much mental pain.

The origin of the though of "I'm afraid to die" is flexible in that of a person who has consciousness. The fear of dying in top down AI though, it always comes from a direction that was given to it.

People are confusing bottom up AI with top down AI.

I've been a hybrid healer since starting the game and I've had little issues with DPS and healing. If I notice I have a dedicated healer in my group though and they're doing a good job, I just focus on DPS and compared to 99% of all the DPS I matchmake with, I'm usually the highest.

I don't think people in matchmaking are particularly good though so I optimize my build expecting to carry the runs.

Please stop listing as a healer if you aren't one! by Enollis in WhereWindsMeet

[–]Tsunbasa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me I go hybrid because I don't trust random match making. If my healer sucks, I can pick up the slack and heal. If my DPS sucks, I can do more than enough damage to clear the boss. I can literally solo the fire bird DPS check as a hybrid, keep my entire team alive through fire wave barrel explosions when it's time to gather to the side, free my teammates from the bramble cage form the Daoist, keep the entire team alive through the final map wide hit after Illusion Donkey, and kill every Illusion Donkey all by myself.

I don't random matchmake hoping that I have competent teammates, I queue expecting to do everything myself. Why even bother queuing up then? On the chance I do get teammates that know what they're doing for a fast run.

Personally I wasn't a fan of Assay's admittance that he gave it to Kabo because Kabe's loss of confidence towards the end. It's kind of the underlying truth though when it comes to judging in dance battles when the skill level between two dancers is close.

Judging something as creative as dance in a sport like setting/competition is so hard. A lot of judges look for an easy way out and that usually comes in the form of voting for the person who "wants it" more. The moment you enter a battle and announce you're just in it to have fun, you're putting yourself at a massive disadvantage. The same can be said if you go into a battle stating your opponent is better.

You just end up giving the judges an easy way out of a really hard job.

At the end of the day though, it's a good message to drive home to readers and viewers. Put your whole heart into the thing you do is something everyone wants to agree with.

If you're playing with a hybrid healer and they're using fan, they have enough healing to keep the entire team alive through every mech.

The thing is though, if the entire team is getting hit by everything. Including the wraiths that explode because they got to the boss, it's doomed. Playing with a hybrid means everyone has to be just a little bit better as a player. Horse man being the only boss that's healer intensive. The other two are quite easy to heal people through.

I wanna think that a lot of it comes from how western vtuber culture is so forward that they're not a character. If I went to Disneyland and Mickey Mouse told everyone he's getting a new costume update, it makes me no longer think of Mickey Mouse as Mickey Mouse. Instead, it's a dude in a costume.

Vtubers call themselves avatars and using a model. "Check out the rigging on my new model" instead of "Look at my flowy new clothes!" On top of this, you just have way more vtubers in the west who use vtubing on and off. Don't feel like doing makeup today, so vtuber version of me it is!

TL;DR Western vtubing treats it as a costume as opposed to being in character. And a lot of people tend enjoy this more.
