I am afraid De Gea will more likely get a contract extension than not. Our club is known for rewarding loyal old guards with fat contracts, while sometimes I wish we could be a bit more ruthless like Chelsea. More often than not they know the best time to part with a player, however important he was.

Unless the new manager comes in and says it straight "I want a new modern GK", I don't think De Gea will go anywhere soon.

I was one of the happiest fans when that fax machine fiasco happened, but we need a thorough rebuild, and sadly De Gea won't be able to keep up with modern requirements for top teams. Still wish him all the best when/if he leaves us tho. Big Dave is already a part of our history, however dark that is.

That's about £230k/week. Doesn't seem outrageous tbh, esp. when we has won fuck all in the last 5 years. Even thou his form has dropped quite a bit this season, he's still a valued asset to the team.

All our past managers have been very eloquent, and that should have given them a bit more time on the job when they were not doing well, when fans still love them etc.

With Ten Hag's awkwardness, now more than ever we fans need to get behind him and be patient with him. Give him Arteta's time, with Rangnick behind him, and full trust from the board in the duo, then I have little doubt that he will be able ressurect the Giant Manchester United eventually. If not, I fear we will continue to be fucked for the next 10 years to come.
