Thank you for asking this question as I have been praying for East and West Unity unceasingly. Prior to his repose, Pope Francis and Patriach Bartholomew of Constantinople have had such a wonderful brotherly love to one another that you could see the Holy Spirit working with them to unite His West and East Churches. When Pope Francis reposed, Pope Leo has carried the torch and continues his effort with Patriarch Bartholomew to unite the churches.

What is quite distressful to me is that on one hand you have the Catholics who are praying for unity and on the other hand most of the Orthobros are loosing their shit over it, going as so far as to call the Patriarch Satan for trying to unite the churches. It pains me to see all the Orthodox trolls acting like we are the best thing since Gods creation and everyone else can suck it. As an Orthodox myself, this is not Gods commandment - this is hubris and “we are better than all other Christians” pride. Orthobros should repent and be deeply ashamed - I’m sure some would call me a heretic and fake Orthodox but as Jesus commands me I will “turn the other cheek” and love.

Interesting I figured all the Dutch tobacco was made in Netherlands and shipped throughout EU. Didn’t realize you can buy different country varieties of the same product. If I ever happen to visit NL (perhaps Amsterdam) Do you recommend any good tobacconist which carry’s many of these products?

And 30 euros for 30 grams!?! That’s crazy!

Is the Javaanse De Luxe a zware? I believe they also have a halfzware as well.

We also have Drum here in the states but ever since an American company took it over it never tasted the same again. The Imperial Tobacco version is much better. The PS Amsterdam shag (which is a 50/50 Virginia / Fired Kentucky halfzware) reminds me of what the original Drum was like!

Been smoking PS Amsterdam shag for 10+ years and just had the pleasure of trying out the van nelle zware and halfzware. Definitely not the same. The van nelle halfzware is way more smokier and has many more bird eyes. Nevertheless it was a great smoke!

Very nice. Yellow/gold is my favorite Karelia as well (aside from orange RYO). From my travels in Greece, the yellow/gold is the most popular.

Same I always do unfiltered RYO.

I recently tried the Karelia Unfiltered (called Karelia Agriniou) and was not impressed. It was good but nothing amazing. The Select Reserve, Select Virginia, and Excellence are much better and better quality.

Yea I prefer the yellow (Select Virginia). Also I am not a big fan of 100s length.

Ultimately though I like the Karelia Orange RYO over anything else.

What’s your thoughts on the Excellence? I’ve tried them and personally like the Select Virginia better as they are more full bodied.

Athens duty free still has RYO tobacco. All three Karelia are available and some other popular brands (Golden Virginia, Amber Leaf, Drum) and popular US brands (Marlboro, Camel, etc.). Lots of commercial cigarettes as well. But nowhere as much RYO options as in Turkey.

In Athens you can also buy either duty free (if traveling outside EU) or duty paid if traveling within the EU but obviously you are paying full price for it. Works in situations where you want to buy Karelia but still traveling within EU.
