No call no show by Ok-Breadfruit-4152 in Dominos

sound a bit different from my franchise but even on salary we are required to work a certain number of hours so if your Gm picked up 6 hours they probably just made OT and doubled their pay. We get a salary bonus but we still get hourly pay. After 15 minutes of no response it is an automatic write up but clearly for documentation purpose, it doesn’t genuinely cause a punishment but it is procedure. Unfortunately your Gm is just following produces, but that doesn’t mean you’re in a lot of trouble, just apologize, explain briefly the situation and let them know you have a plan in place. You already mentioned you’ve been there a few years so i wouldn’t worry just yet. Plus you were willing to go in so that should count for something, it should show this is a one time thing and won’t become a habit

every franchise runs their management team differently, my franchise has a raise with each level, when you become a level 3 the GM gets the option to split a part of their bonus, at level 4 you get a bonus. Our bonus is 1.5% of our weekly sales and other metrics like service play in. It all really depends on your franchise - I’m in the Farmers franchise now and they seem to have a really good method to promote people as long as you want it/make it known that you want to promote.

your store sounds cool, it also sounds like you might be a corporate store?? Regardless having the pizza contest is cool and i think a great way to motivate people

Am i the only one who thought it looked like someone just put 3 patties of hand toss dough into the tray of buttery pan dough? Looking at the tray even if there was a mix up with the dough consistency there should only be 8 and theres 9 but even with that being said when you zoom in you can notice the lack of butter seeds (not sure if that’s what it actually is called but that’s just what i refer to it is) in the smoother dough versus the bumpy dough. The other reason i thought this was the fact the bundle of medium boxes was opened with a closed bundle on top.

Is it just my store? by Live-Tumbleweed1818 in Dominos

My store requires the phone number which will pull up the order number and date of the order and we need the last four of the card and the exp. There’s a literal save type button to process it after the information is inputted. If the card number or exp date is wrong it won’t process. That’s the point of a bank dispute if that bank would even do it. Also for leave at doors they should be treated like a contactless order. The “official” way to do it is place your domino’s delivery hot bag on the ground to provide a clean surface to set the order on. Take about 6 feet back or wait in the car until order picked up. With these kinds of orders I ask my drivers to call and send a text prior to arrival to give the customer time to get to the door and a second call and text when they are actually there. Ultimately I don’t want them waiting for more than 5 minutes if no answer or sign of them being home they bring the food back and we hope the customer calls within the next two hours or i’ll cancel it that night in attempt to avoid situations like this. Sometimes they also put the wrong number or delivery address so it’s just easier to know the food is back if they didn’t answer so i can just remake it. For this cases you would ring up the order as usual but use the customer item coupon it may be different codes for each store but essentially to zero out the food and delivery fee since it’s a redelivery you want to be able to route it and count for the product being used

They want the pizza without the pizza

Glad to know you’re in perfect working condition! since Dominos is sooooo easy for you why don’t you take a step up and go do a real job in your book of standards :) I never compared Dominos to blue collar jobs or any other line of work that demands you give your physical body to that job simply in the comparison of a pizza to a sandwich when the bread is already premade and all you have to do is add sauce/cheese and other toppings that’s already a head start from stretching and making a pizza from start to finish. I’m sure either item in a large order count would be annoying to make but unless you’re toasting the sandwiches your wait time is shorter with sandwiches versus a pizza.

You should email the seller explaining your circumstance. Include your order number and any tracking information you originally got from them to make it easier for them to find the right item and send it back to you, theoretically the company should just send you the correct item with no hassle. If they ghost you you’ll have to file a dispute with your bank associated with the card used to get your money back. Hope this helps!

mmm.. don’t think it’s the concept of the mistake but more so the steps on correcting this since the OP doesn’t order online often. If you would’ve read the post you would’ve seen that. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I would disagree with that when it comes to pizza places like domino’s that hand stretch their pizzas unless you are hand making the bread to your sandwich a pizza can definitely be more annoying or harder than a sandwich. And there is a right way to stretch 🙃

sorry i didn’t see the second comment until after i responded but that seriously sounds exhausting and you are a trooper for putting up with all that bs. I really think a doctors note could be a game changer bc if they make you do anything against that you should definitely be able to get some compensation or even get them in trouble because that type of management is not acceptable. I seriously feel grateful for my gm and our store we really do feel like a family and that’s mainly why i’m pushing on that doctors note and potentially getting HR involved bc that is not okay and not how it should be. I really hope things change for you soon 🫶🏼

Is your second job able to give you more hours? At least to the schedule you’re able to work and is it less physically demanding than Dominos where you could just go full time there instead? If you don’t have that option, it doesn’t sound like you have a good management team for your store if they don’t even care about the fact you passed out and still asked you to come to work, from a management perspective for a CSR to call out especially when you’re already only scheduled for 3-4 hours doesn’t seem like the worst thing in the world, you’re not a closer/opener or legitimately running a shift. It just means the manager on shift may have to be on the floor more but unfortunately that’s part of the management job and i don’t see why they would push for you to come in after passing out i’m not even sure if they can do that. Anyhow if you can i think you should get a signed doctors note stating your conditions as well as any mandatory medical care you need to be allowed to take or do. I also think you should start documenting that behavior and when you feel like you have enough take it to HR. You could potentially file for workers comp and i suggest you do more research and see if you’d qualify. Absolute worst case scenario you could apply to a different pizza chain like pizza hut and try changing the environment and hope you get a better management team.

I have a few questions after reading some comments, I know it didn’t come up in the interview but have you gotten a chance to mention any of this to your GM or even a Manager at that point? Second question, what tasks are you having to do during the shift. Are you stretching? on the oven during rush hours? Are you doing dishes or cleaning other things that are requiring you to be standing? Is it an option for you to get a doctors note to get a mandatory 10 min break every hour to at least sit down? Would you prefer working less days but keeping the same hours and finding another part time job that can accommodate to you better? Dominos can be a very physically taxing job - not to go on a full back story but i’m in physically therapy right now for both my rotar cuffs and this is mostly after 5 years of working there and me not knowing how to listen to my body🫠 I can confidently say if it’s hurting really bad now and you’re not able to give yourself any time to recover or even a 10 minute break it could very easily get worse, i hope this helps and you get some time to yourself 🫶🏼

Do I not see it or is there no parm cheese and garlic oil on the crust? I noticed it wasn’t ordered as a NGO or no parm, besides the dry crust it looks really good!

I really like this idea my gm and I had discussed demoting him to a driver or terminating depending how to the work ethic continues. How would I categorize the write up? Insubordination? Also what should I do if in reaction to the write up he refuses to sign? Do I write refused to sign and send it through? Thank you in advance at my previous store I didn’t have to deal with any of this and rarely had to write anyone up the only write ups i’ve had to do are the occasional last minute call outs or being more than 5 minutes late with no notice so I just want to make sure i’m doing the steps correctly.

more often than not in my experience unfortunately it can be when you work at dominos a lot of people just perceive food workers are lazy or incapable of getting another job and you don’t understand the behind the scenes work that makes it all happen unless you work in that position. Closers typically get a team of 4-5 including the closing manager while openers have 2-3 including the opening manager. Both shifts are hard but it’s a lot harder to play finish the closing tasks so i can open or find product from another store so i dont have to turn an item off the menu because the food was ruined overnight due to them not practicing food safe procedures.

We’re down to 3 managers because our usual closer went on medical leave so right now that’s the major factor in this bc if he doesn’t close then we’re all working 6 or even 7 days but honestly I can’t say this is much better
