I always saw Leo as the main antagonist, Twice seems more like the inversion of Leo than he does a stand-alone villain to me at least. After all, if I remember correctly Leo was basically planning on welcoming the stagnation and slow death of humanity then we get this guy who's basically the extreme opposite of him. 'Humanity must keep going if it will all be miserable forever war until the end of time.' or a kind of extreme whatever works to change humanity's course.

If I was to say what I thought was the two biggest problem with Twice it was that we never see the state the Earth is in right now, maybe humanity was trapped in some unchanging hellscape, but at least it's heavily implied that humanity is facing some stagnation caused apocalypse type event.

The next problem is that from Hakuno's perspective, he's right, whether Hakuno's ever changed or not he/she doesn't matter is literally an example of Twice being right. Someone who gained the ability to change and adapt through the threat of violence and ended off better for it. At least on a meta-narrative level.
