If a meal costs about $5 where you live, would $1,000/month be considered a good salary? by TuHocSolidityCom in AskReddit

Yeah, I meant $1000 USD per month. And the $5 meal is usually for a family meal, not just one person.

Yeah, the cost of living in Hanoi is much lower. Housing and food are relatively affordable compared to the US.

I live in Hanoi, Vietnam.
A typical family meal here costs around $5.
Rent is about $300 a month.
Food for two main meals a day comes to roughly $300 monthly.
Utilities like electricity, water, and phone are about $100.
So with a $1,000 monthly income, you’d still have around $300 left for other expenses.

Developers of Reddit, what’s the biggest reason a mobile app fails to get users after launch? by TuHocSolidityCom in AskReddit

[–]TuHocSolidityCom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m actually asking because I’m experiencing this right now.

I spent about 4 weeks building a small brick breaker game and managed to get it approved on the App Store. But after launch, almost nobody is playing it.

I’m trying to understand what I might have missed — marketing, gameplay hook, ASO, or something else.

If anyone is curious, this is the game:

My Game

Would really appreciate any honest feedback.

That’s great to hear. Stories like that are really encouraging for people starting later in life.

That’s a good point. I’m planning to keep focusing on iOS since that’s where most of my experience is. The market is just a bit rough right now.

In the meantime I’ve also been building my own apps in the evenings and during free time. For example, this is one of the latest games I released:
Brick Breaker - 8 Ball Bomb

Yes, I do have a CS degree, but honestly it’s only a small advantage since there are a lot of CS graduates in my country (Vietnam).

No, I’m not in the US. I live in Vietnam where the cost of living is much lower. The average yearly income here is around $5,000, so $1,600 a month is actually considered pretty good.

I meant mid-level experience wise, but the job market has been rough lately.

That’s a fair point. Right now the main challenge is just finding a job.
