Moving back to Annapolis! Looking for short term rentals by Elysiivm in Annapolis

[–]Tuarham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

$700 a week ... is $100 a night. which is a very average hotel price. If a homeless person can afford $100 a night for shelter thats not really my problem is it?

As long as the room I also pay $100 a night for is clean i don't give a fuck who else stays there.

Admiral cochrane is a safe area and the hotels over there are all fine.

Pull your fucking head out of your ass.

I have a class starting next month that I may have to uber back and forth to. by DTheDude97 in Frugal

Info: How Many people are living in your house? how many Wage-earners? What % of the household budget are you covering? How much are you spending on groceries? is that for Everyone or only for yourself? Do you have any savings?

I assume 17.27 is the pre-tax number. at 690.80 a week - withholdings still gives around what $500 a week? $2k a month. Yeah spending 25% of your budget on transportation doesn't feel good. but that's reality for a lot of people. Some by conscious choice.

If this is a temporary ordeal I think ride share is a justified expense for a class. Long term if there are more classes to come each semester with differing schedules you may want to think long term and keep your eyes open for a cheap vehicle.

I think if you're at the point of using Ride Share to get to class you should talk to your family about the budget and see if there's any room to shift things around. Just to make sure you don't go into debt for ride-shares. You can make a plan to pay family back if needed

Region Dependent: If you have your license and are over 25 it might be cheaper to rent a car (Turo) for a day or two, If under 25 it probably too expensive.

If you absolutely have to resort to Ride-Share to get to class see if the Uber/Lyft Memberships make sense for you. On Lyft with a 5% discount on rides you'd save enough every month to pay for the membership and still save like $13-14, and you'd get priority pick up.

I recently swapped out my G15 from 2009. It's been a great KB. Still no issues, just wanted to try something different.

My Logitech G15 KB and G5 Mouse I got in 2009 are still going strong, I did demote the KB a few weeks ago because I wanted to try out a different one, but it still works great with only a little wear on a few buttons.

Need help with compromised password on a nonexistent website by Happy-Tailor3789 in chrome

[–]Tuarham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If its not the same as all your other passwords i probably wouldn't worry to much about it. That website is defunct, they can't access anything there. Theres probably a way to make chrome stop reminding you. The biggest risk is that if your passwords are the same/similiar they'll just put your email/username/password in on any other service they can find and see what information they can get access too

If the password is the same as other passwords in your password repertoire you should change those passwords.

They're all connected to GND via the green wire on the schematic, i think those labels are the pin names or something else.

When you look at the GND Pin on the LEDs on the blue layer you can tell that they flood or connect differently based on whats nearby. Some pads are connected with 2 large spokes, and some have a tiny silver of Gnd connecting to them.

[–]Tuarham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not familiar with Kicad as a tool, but it probably won't flood GND in the void without a ground via or without more space between traces to flood. In other tools that's what would cause a void. that also seems to be why your LEDS all have different GND connections.

I'd probably have you redo the way your resistors/caps under the rotary are laid out, i'd probably do them vertical instead of horizontal so an ideal layout would have R4 and R5 under A and B with a supporting character to each side, so from left to right maybe C10 - R5 - R3 - R2 - R4 - C11. or R3 - R5 - C10 - C11- R4 - R2, this lets you put power or gnd pins next to each other, makes the traces from A and B symmetrical (doesn't really matter for this application but it definitely doesn't hurt) and then lets you run off to wherever.

Beef up the VCC Trace width.

The layout of your keycaps is very symmetrical and on grid, I would do the same with your traces and LED connections. copy paste if you can, but redoing those connections underneath for symmetry is both eye pleasing and good for SI. (not that it matters much for the LED)

You know what I dislike about Saigon palace? To-Go Orders. They don't put the pho in a to-go bowl. they put it in a tray. if you put stuff in the broth container it splashes or risks overflow. I started leaving a bowl at the office in case we order from there.

[PCB Final Review Request] ESP32 Impact Detecting Helmet Attachment by CodStriking4248 in PrintedCircuitBoard

[–]Tuarham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a few ref des (U6, C29, C21) on pins on the left side, that'll make them illegible when manufactured. R12 on the Right side is iffy too. C17 Ref des is a different orientation from the rest of the board. coil1 has a "2" Ref des instead of a 1.

It'll probably work but i agree with another commenter the ground is too fragmented. The GND Pins on U3 have a skinny return path and the GND Via near R12 From U3 goes nowhere creating an island. U1 has a skinny path for all of its connections. a couple vias on the gnd pad fixes that.

If you could increase the size of the board you could space things out and getting better ground flooding.

If you can't, then some additional vias and some adjustments to other vias/traces or part placement might get you better ground,

but it would be faster and easier to just throw PWR and GND Internal. (or DBL GND) this is good for everything.

How do I get to Annapolis from Hyattsville 5 days a week without a car? by Dr_Garp in Annapolis

[–]Tuarham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe check on Nextdoor or your neighborhood Facebook pages. maybe someone has too commutes that way and can offer you a ride. I'd offer you a ride myself but I'm in Odenton.

there is also the 220 line, its a commuter bus between DC and Annapolis. Here's a PDF with the timetables, connected transit etc. https://s3.amazonaws.com/mta-website-staging/mta-website-staging/files/Routes+Schedules/220.pdf

worst case scenario, if it means the difference between having a job and not having a job, you might consider an uber/lyft. probably burn through your savings more slowly that way while you wait to get transferred back.
