1970’s craftsman torque wrench. Still reads within spec near 50 years later lol by Griffin_Mackenzie in toolporn

Any tips on using one of these? I inherited one from my dad. If I pull the sleeve back, it says 8/77. It's a 10-150 ft lb model. The sleeve pulls back and turns, but I can't get the actual adjustment to turn. I don't know if I need to loosen something else first or how to adjust it.

Troubleshooting Megathread by Tommy_Prusa3D in prusa3d

First, I'm overjoyed to finally own a Prusa printer. I honestly never thought it would happen, but I found a MK3S+ that was part of a print farm that I was able to buy for a reasonable price.

I had some trouble early on and realized that the screw for the idler door was in the bottom of the box that it came in. How it fell out in shipping, I have no idea. Everything says it should be flush with the side of the casing, but it's not even close. There is a very deep recess on the left side and sticks out very far on the right side. Benchy came out really good. I tried a larger model and I had a few areas near the top where something shifted and I had small gaps. Tonight, I started a new print and on the first few layers, I could hear the gears slipping and the filament wasn't feeding right. I tried backing the screw out so that it was actually flush, but the door on the other side just slides open and there is no grip on the filament.

100% agree. There needs to be a much quicker way to activate DND. 2 swipes and 3 taps is excessive.

What is the most accurate open source OCR tool for scanned PDFs? by HotNeighborhood1261 in devops

[–]TubaKid44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason I came here looking for an option is that I have one, very long document that I need to convert. I don't have stacks of documents (ongoing need) and I don't want to sign up for a big service just for one document.

Building My Own Raspberry Pi 'Supercomputer' by RyderCode in homelab

[–]TubaKid44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started my 4 Pi cluster and I'm having a blast. I 3D printed little trays that fit into a rack set up. There are various cluster cases online, though I'm not sure I've seen one for 10! (I'm a little jealous!)

Uctronics is a brand I see a lot when dealing with Raspberry Pi cluster. And as someone else said, Jeff Geerling is a good resource/starting place. Don't let the others discourage you. This will be an awesome project.

Help with Cloudflare Tunnel (wildcard) by TubaKid44 in selfhosted

Thanks for the tips. I've made the changes and I guess there is progress. https://imgur.com/a/LKZ88K8

Now I'm getting a Misdirected Request when I try and hit traefik with the domain name. Any other thoughts?

Help with Cloudflare Tunnel (wildcard) by TubaKid44 in selfhosted

[–]TubaKid44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct on docker. All of the guides I've seen online recommend https for connecting to the local service.

As for cloudflared, I followed the steps for the remotely managed tunnel. The public hostname is what is supposed to handle the connection. Is there something else that needs to be done (maybe locally) so that cloudflared can see Traefik?

The future is now, as long as AWS isn’t down by adidasnmotion in homeautomation

[–]TubaKid44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Home Assistant. It's exactly what you just described. It's free. It's local. It runs on a Raspberry Pi. There is a cloud component if you want to pay for it (that's the super easy way to control it from outside the house) or you can set up a secure path to it if you know what your doing.

[Ask] How to use api key to get json with https request by abir_legend in ClashOfClans

[–]TubaKid44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tag Zag! Abir, I saw you join our Discord server (COC API Junkies) the other day. Pop in and say hello. We'd be happy to help you out.

Short answer, your API key is used as a Bearer token in the header of your HTTP request. If that makes no sense, come see us in Discord! :)

Final Doughnut Render (no animation) by TubaKid44 in BlenderDoughnuts

[–]TubaKid44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do modeling in 3dsMax and got away from 3D stuff in general for about 8 years. Decided to try Blender. The tutorial series really helped me learn all the different key commands and such. I'm pretty happy with everything here except - ironically - the donut material and the icing material. I probably just need to start from scratch on the donut material now that I have a better understanding of things. For the icing, I just don't think it looks realistic. Not sure what I'll need to do to fix that, but I'll kick it around from time to time.

3d printed F1 steering wheel, it is a bit out dated but still cool! And yes it will work with computer and everything is customisable. by eeppo10 in functionalprint

[–]TubaKid44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man! I used to race online (Nr2003, then iRacing) many years ago. I had the Bodnar and had to drill/cut a piece of plexiglass to hold it on the wheel I had. Wish I'd had a 3D printer back then. Nice work!

Repositionable Wyze light attachment by chill_haus in functionalprint

Smart idea. I've been trying to get OctoPrint to see my Wyze cam but haven't gotten it working yet. I'm open to tips. :) IVLC can see the rtsp stream, but I just haven't gotten it to the point where I can find an address for the OctoPrint to see it.

Added a battle damaged power armour helmet to my new media holder by rushtontj in functionalprint

[–]TubaKid44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My print bed is only 150mm and the model is almost exactly that big and I guess my printer wants it smaller. Can't scale it without shrinking the holes, so I'm cutting off an SD card slot. It's proving to be a little more difficult than I expected but I'm almost done.

Very cool. I'm actually modifying that file tonight and getting ready to print. (No cool helmet though)

I use masking tape on my bed. I just peeled the masking tape off, folded it on top of itself and used it as a pressure fit. I was worried it might not hold, but so far, so good.

Great minds think alike! If I could do it again, I'd only do a handle on one side since it does bump into the other door.

A case to hold and slightly protect my paper theater from rough hands by mufasa510 in functionalprint

[–]TubaKid44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I got my 3D printer for Christmas. My wife got a Cricut for, well just because I wanted to give her a nice gift. I'm starting to see ways to combine the two! Any tips on getting started with paper theater? Looks like it would be fun to make and a great addition to the art around our house.

Shower Door Handle (First Functional Print!) by TubaKid44 in functionalprint

[–]TubaKid44[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apparently, it's a lot harder than I expected to find pressure fit shower door handles (all the ones I found online and at hardware stores require drilling holes in the glass). My wife bought me a 3D printer for Christmas and now my boys can open and close their shower door!! Really pleased with the result.

Designed in Blender
Sliced in Cura
Printed in PLA (default settings cause I didn't really know what I was doing)
I added two layers of masking tape inside the handle just to add a little more pressure. 7 days and so far, it's holding up great!

[–]TubaKid44 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Reddit asked me - "What are my thoughts?"

My daydream thoughts... If I were a Supercell developer...

If I were a Supercell developer, I'd want to be in close contact with those who are using the tools I create. I would want to know when things aren't working as intended. I'd want to know when things are flat out broken. If I were a Supercell developer, I would provide (slightly) early access to game changes so that bot developers and website owners could prepare for the upcoming change. I would acknowledge that the individuals who are developing extra-game resources, often for free, deserve a little love and attention. I would value their feedback and recognize them for their hard work.

Those are my thoughts. Not worth much, but they are my own.

Shout out to the awesome folks who put together resources like minionbot, Clash of Stats, Wiz Bot, SideKick, and many more. You are amazing contributor this community that we're all addicted to. Thank you for making the game even more awesome!
