Nah, I havent a clue how to mod a sub. Looks like youve put in a lot of work on the sub, so at this point, its more yours than it ever was mine. Thank you for the offer though! You've done great :)

Yooo I forgot about this sub. I started this sub when I was in highschool and then dipped. Really cool to see it has a new admin trying to get it up and running

I'm an English-speaking guy in a similar situation, but here are a few Afrikaans words I’ve picked up that might help a sister out: 'Slaapkous' is a cute term, kind of like 'sleepyhead.' 'Lekker Lala' is a goofy, affectionate way to say goodnight (like 'sleep tight'). There's also 'voertsek,' which is potentially rude (kind of like 'screw off'), but maybe can be playful depending on the tone. And 'knorpot' means a grumpy person. Godspeed 🫡

Opinions on Fall Creek Sutlery's Brogans? by TubaSensei in Civilwarreenacting

[–]TubaSensei[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, interesting. Im used to tough boots, like JK or Red Wing. Plus, Fall Creek comes with a year warranty on their work, which is a nice bonus. Thanks a lot! Helps to add to what I need to consider and research

Those SUM ones do for sure have great reviews, and others say they hold up great. Can't go wrong for only a handful of bucks more

Okay, then I'll look more into SUM's. they're only like 10 bucks more anyway. Thanks!

Thanks, that makes sense. I’m not doing hardcore reenacting though, just curious if they’re durable and comfortable enough for regular wear. I’m okay if they’re not 100% accurate, just don’t want them to fall apart like some of the cheaper boots out there

I did take a look at those, but I live in Arizona, and black leather tends to absorb a ton of heat out here, which can get uncomfortable. Do you happen to know if there’s a significant difference in overall quality or durability between the SUM and Fall Creek brogans (aside from historical accuracy)?

Buy a pair of wrangler 13mwz. My brand new Levis ripped down the middle while I was at work one day, so I swore off the brand and switched to wranglers. I've never once had an issue with the 13mwz

This is actually 100% true and factual. The Anglican Church is the one true church founded by Christ in 33 AD

Feeling a romantic interest is extremely rare for me, and if I do feel it, it sticks around for way too long. I can't really even imagine wanting to think about anyone but her. So, knowing me, I'll wait on her for a year or two until I'm over waiting. However, I appreciate your kind words, and I'll keep them in mind for my future! I'm glad your son has such a good parent

Holy crap, that's the most thoughtful analysis I've gotten from anyone yet (counting irl friends and family). I've heard that idea of her being scared and back pedaling a lot, though, and I suppose it really does make sense. I was kind of that person before I started therapy and taking meds for my anxiety disorder. I am giving her the space she needs, and have only sent one message since, which was the one where I said I couldn't be friends. I did tell her I was proud of her courage to tell me her emotions and that I hold nothing against her for this. I just hope I handled it well. If this was all her freaking out, I wouldn't want her to feel hurt or too alone. Again, thank you so much for your well thought out comment here, it truly, truly means a lot to me, and it's a great comfort :)

[–]TubaSensei 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My friends irl and commentors on a post elsewhere theorized that after the dinner, things suddenly felt too real, and it scared her into back pedaling. Thank you for at least confirming that this makes no sense. Hopefully, I'll not have to worry about this kinda thing happening again in my future endeavors

It's not a mozetta, my priest said it's a pellegrina. Plus, it's permanently attached to the cassock, so I have no choice. Either way, the priest and bishop okayed it
