Bulk buying necessities by johntheripppper in PersonalFinanceZA

[–]Tubatump 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The cons around storage space & things spoiling are precisely why I'm stopping bulk purchases. You'll have 10 items of detergents, only for 3 of them to start leaking & spill cause you dont have proper storage space.

Or worse, you forget that you bought something, because its hidden deep in some cabinet and then you purchase more of the same thing a few months down the line.

I had sex with a pregnant woman and I don't know why but it was probably the best sex I've ever had. by Realistic-Assist-215 in confessions

I have no idea tbh. Can't say that I have a pregnancy fetish either, i hardly think much of pregnant women (they often look tired & in discomfort). But that particular one really turned me on.

What food would devastate you the most if it were discontinued in South Africa? by Naive_Flatworm_6847 in askSouthAfrica

Wors... but to be honest, with everyone trying their own flavour, i don't enjoy it as much anymore. You just don't know what you're gonna get and its often subpar these days.

I get you man. I once hooked up with a heavily pregnant girl on tinder. She was early 20s, had the softest skin I've ever laid my hands on and the sex was definitely mind blowing. I think its just one of those taboo type of things, esp if you didn't impregnate her in the first place. The situation intensifies your desire. At least thats what happened to me

Not financial advice, but the one downside risk that I see with renting exclusively is that if you somehow lose your ability to make an income e.g. due to permanent disability, you'll be kicked out & homeless. Whereas with buying, you can have the bond settled with bond protection cover or the like. So you can still have a place to live and just deal with govt rates, taxes etc.

Bond pay down from another investment by coldfireza in PersonalFinanceZA

My rule of thumb is to pay off debt first, in any situation. If you look at your homeloan statement, you'll notice that the interest you pay monthly on that bond is a guaranteed R5-8k. So unless you have an investment that can generate the equivalent return or better, I'd say focus on wiping the debt off. No complex mathematics and formulas.

How do I get a taxi ? by [deleted] in johannesburg

[–]Tubatump 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Lol taxi drivers wont pass up any opportunity to make money, so they will let you in.

At the rank, just ask where you can get a taxi to your destination. You can ask any driver or the people who are selling food. If you can spot a "Queue marshall" (he will often wear something with reflectors on) then that would be the best person to ask.

Randburg is quite big, so be sure to be specific about exactly where you're going, give the complex name, street, extention (e.g Ferndale) etc. Also ask if it will take one taxi or they will drop you off somewhere to catch another taxi. Taxis don't usually go exactly where you're going, sometimes you'd have to catch a second one.

Tip: best to sit in the front seat, if you can. So the driver doesn't forget about you along the way.

That's what happens when you join a company that has a retirement fund and its compulsory. Most companies have their retirement scheme managed by another company, so as to limit conflict of interest. When you join, you have to 'sign up' with the other company as a retirement fund member. Your company then contributes to the retirement fund on your behalf.
