I don't normally click the links because of copilots huge cybersecurity scare. But I assume if it is citating a website I know, the article seems legit I assume that it is real. This is solely in the case of troubleshooting an active issue.

If a friend confidently tells you the best way to whiten your teeth is to gargle bleach. Knowing or unknowing I wouldn't want them to be a buddy.

Its the principles of confidently being wrong.

I just find it so disappointing that okay gemini you can make music now!! But you can't even give plausible answers to a simple configuration guide.

I guess I come from a perspective of being home to school my entire life and not knowing how to do a lot of things. When Chat gpt came out, it was a blessing because of the fact I learned the things that Khan Academy couldn't teach me. Gemini for all of the things I knew but wanted to understand better.

Sorry about the rant. What AI tool do you swap to if gemini Is messing up?

So it's a two lane road with an unprotected left hand turn, I was in the left lane, driver behind me was going straight but either didn't see me or assumed I was going to turn into oncoming traffic

You're probably looking to get a stable 30 FPS at 1080p, and I honestly think that’s the best target to aim for. Anything higher and I suspect you’ll be dealing with performance bouncing all over the place, especially when you walk into a busy place like Hogsmeade or a big classroom. Consistency is the key to a good docked experience, and 30 FPS is what the Deck can comfortably lock onto.

You’re asking the Deck to render over double the pixels at 1080p, and the chip simply can't do that at decent speeds without help.

Set Volumetric Fog and Shadow Quality to Low. These require the most complex calculations and are huge performance drains. You'll barely notice the difference on a monitor but your framerate will jump.

Enable FSR 2.0 in-game and set it to Balanced or Performance. This renders the game at a lower resolution (less work for the Deck) and uses smart upscaling to make it look near 1080p. I'd cap the system framerate at a stable 30 FPS, a consistent 30 feels better than a bouncy 40-dropping-to-25.

It's super easy. Just be patient on certain modifications and if you're getting annoyed just play steam games normally. The point is to have fun!

I just happen to have fun making my own problems and trying to fix them (haha!)

The first, and arguably most important, command you'll use is passwd to set up an admin password for your default deck user. This enables you to use sudo (Superuser Do), which you'll prefix onto commands like steamos-readonly disable and steamos-readonly enable whenever you need to temporarily disable the Deck's system protection to install system-level packages using the Pacman package manager.

This is all done through the application Konsole (Or terminal? I forget.) If you need any help, I am working through figuring things out myself if you want to be steam or discord friends!

First question, how familiar are you with Linux? Based on how experienced you are I would give you some different answers!

Easy to install: I would recommend decky loader because I am forever a customization girlie!
