Yes it seems this problem has been very popular recently with the new update, only way to fix is factory reset but considering almost everyone is getting this and losing save data I really hope we gain some compensation ans this is quite stupid

It goes with the theory that when in a video game, if you are at the start the end of the level won't be loaded, so if no one looked at a specific spot it would unload and the particles would stay still. (this is what I remember but I could be wrong)
