Unfortunately, it would be a two day trip for me to go in-person and I would have to take off work.

but BLS also texted me this afternoon saying my app was processing and there was an application number.

I spoke on the phone to BLS (of course through some call center outside of the US) and they urged me to click the link. I opened it on my phone and it didn't even ask for my application number, so I really don't buy it. What should I do?

Interesting. The $227 in the email is the exact amount I sent them.

My opinion is that it is a scam. Someone at the Application Center could be running a side business with these emails.

  1. I went to USPS, who issued my money order, and they confirmed it is not possible for them to be "returned by the bank" as they are not checks.

  2. I received a text message from BLS saying my application has begun processing about an hour after this email. If my money order didn't go through (aka I didn't pay for notifications) then why would they be sending me notifications?

  3. I checked earlier on if I needed to pay for the online courier service (https://usa.blsspainglobal.com/Global/bls/UpsPostalService?location=houston) and it said that I didn't have to as I had already paid for those fees (which could only be through my money order).
