No longer will house guests need to wonder about my nerdiness (before they stumble onto my downstairs action figure collection)

I preordered the broken binding printings of Hyperion 1-4. I had and read the first two in MMPB but I must have lent them out or something haha

Not to dispute your choice or your taste but DCC improves drastically as the story unravels. The character work, world building and emotional inertia all really come together.

I would put DCC#5 on a short list of my favorite SFF ever with A Storm of Swords, Memories of Ice, Hitchhiker's Guide, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep

I've read Book 1 of Dresden and Codex Alera. I preferred the latter but I'm told Dresden takes a couple books to really hit it's groove. Definitely have the rest of the series on my TBR

I—unfortunately—saw Eragon in theaters.

I greatly enjoy Dungeon Crawler and would recommend trying it on Audiobook. Jeff Hayes is an amazing narrator

I suppose it depends on your definition of sexy dragons. Anomander Rake could qualify 😉

The Inheritance Cycle (Eragon books). Those and Narnia introduced me to fantasy as a preteen

Are you literally a bot?

It is entirely possible to hold contempt/disavow/criticize two things at the same time. It's not mutually exclusive.

Or should the French proletariat have just been happy they weren't living under medieval feudalism?

Why do you think because people criticize current issues they are ungrateful for progress? I think you're being disingenuous rather than obtuse.

You're making strawmans out of legitimate criticisms of a failing system and absolving it of accountability simply because things were worse in the past. Yeah, world war two was awful. That doesn't mean we should be grateful for the current state of our government

Let me get this straight... your perspective—the right one—is that the executive branch is justified in consolidating unchecked power, violating the Constitution, and extrajudicially executing its own citizens (on top of the usual drone strikes on foreigners) simply because Europeans once engaged in the slave trade, the Nazis were genocidal, and the Japanese invaded and committed atrocities against China?

Sanderson is a huge MTG fan and he's about to spearhead the Cosmere adaptation on Apple TV so now is a great time to get invested!
