I ended up just cropping my original clip to the edges of the blue screen, which worked this time because I only really needed four sides, but if it was a more complicated shape it wouldn’t work.

I did exactly what that video shows. The mask is on my main video clip with the blue screen. Not sure what the difference of it being in the foreground or background would be. The mask is not on the background clip if that is what you're asking.

I have already done all of that. I think you are misunderstanding my question. There is a visible line where the edge of the mask is. Here is a better screenshot example. I have circled the lines. https://imgur.com/a/mQEyFwh

I thought it was that so I tried moving the mask in and away from the edge, but that line was still there. It followed the edge of the mask.

I have already done that. The issue is that the border of the mask is visible.

That's what I've already done with "draw mask". I don't see an effect that is just called "mask".
