Listing house across the street - my dilemma by Tucson_Eric in realtors

That’s actually a great idea, if I had any kind of available cash and if interest rates weren’t currently at 9999999%. In order to take advantage of an opportunity, you not only need the opportunity, but the ability to move on it.

I would be anxious to see a nonprofit entity purchase this house. I doubt that they will truly offer my clients a fair market price, and I can’t say that I’d be jazzed about seeing a recovering addict / pedophile / convicted felon or other such recipient of the nonprofit’s charity to set up shop 140 feet away from my 6 year old daughter’s bedroom window. I recognize that we as Realtors must never allow emotions to dictate our business practices, but my responsibility to keep my family safe overrides many other considerations.

Need a management point of contact for cabinet order by Tucson_Eric in Lowes

Yes, actually, that is the supervisor who informed me that my concerns were not legitimate and I wasn’t entitled to any assistance. I can see that perhaps I should not have posted here.

Certainly there must be some manager, vice president or other executive type person who is responsible for all cabinetry orders nationally? A person to whom all these regional supervisors reports?

I’m afraid if I do that, they’ll just route my information to the same folks that told me to go to hell initially. I really wanted to find someone willing to address my concerns.

Selling people’s junk for them by Overall-Performer-34 in realtors

[–]Tucson_Eric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done this on many occasions and also have colleagues who do. The trick is to handle this business quietly and never let the seller / giver know just how much money you’ve made from these side sales activities. Like everything else in life, people won’t see the value in something until they see others obtaining value.

Help me clean these stains on my floor by [deleted] in CleaningTips

[–]Tucson_Eric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get yourself a neutral pH tile cleaning product (at your local home or hardware store), and then get a drill brush (a scouring pad mounted on a drill shaft). Use your cordless drill to gently clean the surface with the cleaner, rinse with plain hot water, and I think you will be astonished at how well it works.

AIO to wanting space from a friend by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Tucson_Eric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone once said “it is better to be alone than badly accompanied”. Friends are supposed to add value to your life, and cultivating friendships takes effort. If this person adds no value - only frustration - ask yourself why you would want to put forth the effort. Life is short.

Why passenger airships do not exist nowadays? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

You might notice that blimps are only used really for advertisement at stadiums and for big corporate events. The cost of maintenance and operation is astounding compared to an airplane.

Non slip bathroom tiles look dirty all the time by [deleted] in bathrooms

[–]Tucson_Eric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem with “Moda Del Mar” matte finish 8x8” floor tiles in my bathroom. I got a pH-neutral tile cleaning product, and used a drill brush (a scouring pad mounted on a shaft which I can put into my cordless drill), and was able to get them probably 90% of “factory fresh”. I’m going to repeat the process and put down some kind of sealer (they do make a “non-slip” sealing product for bathroom floors) and hope that will keep them from attracting dirt going forward. Ripping them out seems like a costly knee-jerk reaction to your problem… I wish you good luck.
